We had this dishwasher for less than 2 years and it broke 4 times. We got so sick of hand washing dishes that we ending up just getting rid of it and replacing with a Bosch. It was quiet when it worked. Also, great to have the warranty, but annoying to have to wait for it to be fixed or wait for parts.

Be forewarned that the 2nd rack brackets are made of cheap plastic. Both sides broke after a year and Whirlpool seems to know it because the service parts are reinforced with metal. Also had the drain pump go out at 18 months and heater element at 20 months. Would not buy again even at this price.

Costco took down the product page despite it being advertised as on sale until 10/15. That is really weird.

I have this dishwasher and my top rack hardware just broke.

I was researching parts today and couldn't find the exact replacement on the Whirlpool site, but only the parts with metal instead of plastic.

I regret not going with a Bosch dishwasher even though we have matching Whirlpool appliances in our kitchen.

Whenever this one breaks, we are definitely going with Bosch.

Thanks for the post.

We purchased one of these. Love the dishwasher but be wary of their install service. I'm sure most go smoothly but mine leaked into the area between my flooring and subfloor. I didn't notice until hours later when it started showing signs. I had to really push to get them to send the installer out ASAP (they said 3-5 business days) and when they came out they mysteriously found nothing. The leak also stopped after the visit. Costco would not respond to my calls about the damaged floor afterward.

Delivery service (separate subcontractor) was perfect on-time, polite, and efficient.

Just one experience.

Do you expect Costco pay for the floor?

One of the main reasons dishwashers do a crappy job as they took the phosphates out of the detergents very unceremoniously. I bet hundreds of thousands of dishwashers were wasted for no good reason when people incorrectly assumed they were broke.

Also if you're willing to take a little time there's a lot of parts that are pretty cheap to repair

What Bosch would you recommend? We just pulled the dishwasher out because it smelled disgusting and found a really old rats nest in there. Rat poo everyone. Super disgusting and a big surprise too Frown need a new dishwasher but aside from that I'm going to have to remove all the toekicks to see what other nastiness is under those cabinet void spaces Frown

The hose clamps used on these are crap. They will fail and flood your floor. It happened to me.

Agreed. However, we have found a detergent by Melaleuca, called Diamond Brite. You can find them as a non-member on eBay. I've compared this stuff to all the good brands and none work as well as this one. No slime - and beats even the phosphate containing stuff I've tried.

Agree the Whrilpoot top racks are the biggest piece of junk ever made. Luckily there are aftermarket kits on Amazon that replace all the cheap plastic parts with stainless steel.

Also , folks never seem to look at the filter in the bottom tub... twist it out and find a whole lot of nasty in there.

We bought our a week before Thanksgiving last year. We also love it for the price it is great value. Though it lacks some features like dedicated cycle for pots and pans etc.

The delivery guys said there will be a separate installer crew who will come later today. That crew never showed up, I ended up installing myself which was not too difficult but it bothered me that Costco wasn't able to resolve the issue on time. It could be that they were busy due to holiday. I was told later by one of the customer support person that Costco could reimburse installation charges if I had hired a contractor to install. Since I did it myself that didn't help :/

Aren't the installers licensed contractors, required to carry insurance? If so perhaps you can take photographic evidence and take them to court.
