Platinum is supposed to be a premium credit card - has one of the highest annual fees of any CC, and they add a Walmart benefit? I think Amex is confused and really diluting the brand and product

The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless

They diluted their AMEX Deals too. It used to be only a few but they were all very decent. Now its full of junk from tiny retailers that i've never heard of and takes forever to filter through the garbage.

I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.

I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.

Wow, talk about out of touch! I know a handful or Platinum card holders (myself included), and none of them would have any qualms with shopping at Walmart.

The walmart.com/plus site is a little confusing on the min spend amount. Is it $0 or is it $35 min spend?

I believe the $0 is for Walmart.com orders and the $35 minimum is for local delivery orders.

For people in NYC who have and use Walmart+ delivery:
Do you have to tip?
How are your delivery experiences with Walmart+? Is it reliable?

Does anyone know when Amex Platinum charges their annual fee? is it the same date as the previous year? I want to downgrade to a free card before the fee kicks in. Personally the benefits are nowhere near worth the yearly fee.

TIA

If you shop enough at Walmart or offers through Slick Deals, it's worthwhile as there is no minimum.
Walmart, imo, offers more brands and choices compared to other grocery stores and at very attractive prices.
Problem is Wal-Mart doesn't offer all of their in-store items to be ordered online. Like their great value food items that are $1. They all say in-store only. If you want us to shop at Wal-Mart, let us buy every single item online. Frozen and dairy items too.

I think you completely missed the point. The biggest benefit of Walmart+ is that you no longer need to step foot in a Walmart.

It's a recurring monthly discount for a monthly subscription.Walmart+ will charge your Amex Plat, then Amex will refund you the same amount in a few days.

Yeah sure AmEx is adding all kinds of weird credits to this card but at least it's tons of stuff. What has Chase added the the CSR? That card is an even bigger brick.

Similar date as the previous year, but I'd say hit up their chat on the website or app so they give you an exact date.

Can't recall if Amex gives any grace period on full/ prorated refund upon cancelling after annual fee billing, but if they do, I would cancel T minus 2 days, where T is any grace period's end date.

That way you get to use it for a few additional days/ weeks for no cost.

AMEX Plat is a coupon book since they "upgraded" the perks. All junks, and now this lol.

Most people who have Amex Plat already have Amazon Prime. What can you buy at Walmart and not Amazon?

I can't remember the last time I was inside a Walmart, but I order stuff from walmart.com often enough. So this is definitely a nice freebie. Thanks OP!
