Platinum is supposed to be a premium credit card - has one of the highest annual fees of any CC, and they add a Walmart benefit? I think Amex is confused and really diluting the brand and product
The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless
They diluted their AMEX Deals too. It used to be only a few but they were all very decent. Now its full of junk from tiny retailers that i've never heard of and takes forever to filter through the garbage.
I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.
I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.
Wow, talk about out of touch! I know a handful or Platinum card holders (myself included), and none of them would have any qualms with shopping at Walmart.

These platinum/gold/titanium/Iridium/Osmium super duper premium status cards. They all dish out "rewards points" aimed at travel. Free lounges. Free Hotel rooms at 5 star hotels. Etcetc.
Do they ever make sense for an average Joe that doesn't spend all their time getting flown around by their employer in a way that they run all the expenses through their card and get reimbursed? Because it doesn't make much sense to me to pay $600/year for a free night or two at a hotel.
These cards seem obsolete AF and I'd rather get something that gives me 3-5% cash back.
I get that they're fantastic for the ballers in middle management though. Probably get a month of penthouse suites at Marriot off a bonvoy triple platinum card lol.
If you don't travel regularly, these high end travel cards absolutely are not worth it. I'm converting mine to a no fee card before renewal and I travel for work regularly. Delta is cutting down the sky club access to 6 times total for the year. This will also cause further overcrowding in centurion lounges.
The great offers you used to get are long gone, and the offers are basically coupons you could get elsewhere.
The lounge access used to be worth the $550 annual fee by itself. Now that those are all but gone, and the fee has been raised to $700 a few years ago, it's tougher to justify.
Walmart plus is not really that big of a benefit, even the free shipping is a word game, they tack on extra delivery fees for orders under $35 https://www.offers.com/blog/post/...t-walmart/
Walmart negative has issues
Half the time they never have milk and diapers - main reason I order from them . I end up going to target weekly for two to six items . Only reason i got walmart plus is to avoid the circus or to witness theft from trashy people .
Frankly I don't like the tip
Option: I don't tip while getting delivery from Amazon or dhl, usps. Doesn't make any sense / just increase the prices and build it into price . I got jt throught gold card too but rarely will use ign
I just want to say that Walmart+ is realtively worthless. I don't have a Walmart near me, and they don't have a lot of stuff online. I'd value this benefit at less than $10
They've upped their annual fee, and they're changing the lounge program so guests will be $50 unless you spend over $75k annually. The card is turning into a ripoff.
You don't think airlines are an even bigger ripoff?
Orders a few items from Walmart+. Was supposed to be delivered the next day and for three days they said it was delayed and then they canceled the order.
Haven't read through all the comments so sorry if this was already mentioned, but with the free Walmart+ membership you also get a free Paramount+ membership, plus some other perks like .10 off per gallon at Mobil/Exxon.
W+ $49 year if you time it right, always goes on sale in November. 10 cents at Exxon or Mobil is still overpriced, get discount at Shell 15 cents or more with Tmo
p+ can be bad for little or free too if you follow Slickdealers
I would have signed up again for Platinum anyway but they killed SUB on Schwab flavor if you had vanilla before which was never the case. No sub, so I chose US Bank Altitude Reserve

Great deal! I use this 2-3x a month. I just pay a ~$7 tip and there are no other delivery fees.
My platinum card also as an Offer for 5 MR points per dollar on Walmart.com
Adding to the suggestion: Consider adding Walmarts In home Delivery to your account. American Express covers the basic Walmart plus membership and the in-home plus is an additional seven dollars per month if I remember correctly. For that seven dollars you would get "no tip needed" all the time. If you're using them 2 to 3 times a month as this person is, why spend $21 in tips when you can just spend seven and go tip free for the whole month? I don't use Walmart often, but the convenience once or twice a month makes it worth it! Their in-home delivery program does not require that. They actually deliver the items inside your home. Those are preferences that you can use or refuse as you see fit. It also gives you in-home returns where you can send things back to Walmart without having to go to the store. They'll come and pick it up! Hope this helps whether you have an American Express, platinum card or not. ☺️
