Also, that's how pretty much all Dell monitors look in the back, the VESA mounts fit like a glove in that recessed area. If the specs say VESA then it's mountable (which they do: VESA Mounting Interface: VESA - click on see more and it's in the "Mechanical section"). I have had maybe give or take 10 different Dells, all without issues with mounting on arms.
I have 2721HS which I like but purchasing this one for higher resolution. Adjustable stand is a must.
