Is it legit tri ply? Those are usually $50 a piece minimum.

One of the reviewer posted a side view pic (pot has the Cuisinart label). Looks thick like mine (tramontina triply clad 8pcs set $70 from Costco- 2018)

With SS cookware, make sure heat the pan properly (Leidenfrost effect) to achieve nonstick effect when pan fry any proteins ...oh low simmer or deglaze stubborn burned bits with water & vinegar for easy cleaning.

Not the triply you're thinking of with a copper layer. These have an aluminum core with stainless sheet metal stamped around it. Once the aluminum is heat cycled a bunch of times, the seem opens up. When water gets in there the aluminum corrodes and swells. That causes the bottom stainless sheet to heavily separate.

On top of that, Cuisinart stopped replying to my emails when I was trying to file a warranty claim. Absolutely worthless junk unless you only plan to use it for decoration.

This set is multiclad (triply clad similar construction to D3 in all clad cookware)
I'm pretty sure you were talking about the triply base (encapsulated bottom)

These are not in anyway similar to the D3. I have never heard of those separating at the seems. These are complete and worthless garbage. Paying anything more than their value in scrap is a rip off. Don't believe me, give it a shot. Just remember that I warned you when they fail.

Regardless of any comparisons with allclad, this is excellent price for this set. Just the stock pot and the pan cost much more than this. I have the pan and stockpot; they have held up pretty well for the two years that I have had them.
The only red flag is that these are not sold by Amazon.

With the bonded or encapsulated base cookware ...I was taught to hand wash, avoid soaking in the sink and esp pre heating any empty pot/pan on high heat unattended.
My parents have been using that kind over 20+yrs and still in good condition ... refuse to replace until theirs are unusable
I did my research and I got SS triply "clad" construction for easy maintenance and durability.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Cuisinart warranty dept
