Soy protein, sunflower oil, and canola oil. Not even a lot of protein in this. Wondering why this stuff is so expensive yet has poor ingredients.
Because this isn't a "protein" shake. It's meal replacement drink. Def not meant for building mass.

The 14oz 12 packs went on sale for close to this price pretty frequently as well. You have to compare the sale price of this to the sale price of the 14oz bottles.
Those rarely go on sale, trust me, I'm always on the lookout. But yes, they have sold for a lot less in the past.

Thanks for this deal, I get these for my dad who is in the early stages of dementia. He can't cook much anymore and resorts to fast food via DoorDash but I just get him these "chocolate milk" and he likes them and it seems better than McDonald's or Taco Bell for every meal.
Read up on canola oil & sun flower oil. They claim omega 3' content but I'm betting the omega 6's are far higher in ratio.. meaning this potentially can be horrible for your health long term.

Consider looking into diabetes and it's relation to dementia as well.. supposedly folks suffering from these both benefit from a low carb lifestyle (from healthier choices.. not just processed alternatives)

Good god, why is it that every time a soylent deal gets posted, the weirdos show up concerned that it's going to make them infertile or grow breasts or get cancer? All of those are myths. Here's a review of over 400 studies on everything medical science knows about a soy diet's impact on human health.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/...MC5188409/

People who eat soy rich diets see no impact on testosterone levels whatsoever. They have notable cardiovascular health benefits. No discernable impact on fertility. The studies that purported to show men getting breasts or other odd "feminizing symptoms" involved two weird dudes who ate nearly 10x what old japanese dudes who LIVE on soy already typically eat.

It's fine. If you eat foods rich in soy, you're probably eating a pretty healthy diet already and have nothing to worry about in terms of living a happy, perfectly normal life.

And LOL to the idea that if you're living in America and eating anything other than food you grow yourself, that you're not already eating a TON of soy in consumer packaged foods and drinks.

It's fine as a protein source for occasional meal replacement, which is what Soylent is for. It's not intended as your sole source of calories (maybe it was when it was back when it was a tech bro concern trying to "revolutionize" food), nor as a supplement for strength training. Just don't drink 2000 calories of it a day and you'll be fine.

It's more like a vegan Ensure than a protein shake.

A lot less than $20? You'd have to go back 5 years for that

I meant a lot less than their regular price of around $39.

320 calories is a lot to "drink". A 320 meal will keep you full and satiated a lot longer than chugging all those calories in liquid form. These drinks keep me full for half the time as same calorie solid foods such as energy/protien bars. Unless you don't mind getting hungry and as a result probably eating/drinking more calorie then probably this is irrelevant for you. But vast majority of people who struggle to stay within their calorie limit/target this is a big issue. To simply it for you, think about the difference between eating few oranges vs drinking orange juice of equivalent calorie count. You will definitely get/stay full from the oranges a lot longer than the juice.

Nope.

I lived off this stuff for a week after I got my wisdom teeth out. Drank about 4-5 a day. Didn't have any issues. I'll sometimes still drink some in the mornings or if I need something quick now.

It does keep you full. Not too full, not empty, just satiated. I learned this because when I was starving and drank like 500 calories worth of Soylent, I instantly didn't feel hungry anymore.
Excellent, you must have felt like people then.

You're right, soy is in everything! Ever think that may be a contributing factor to the current obesity epidemic? Our bodies aren't supposed to consume seed oils. Unfortunately, our benevolent "Health" organizations spent billions demonizing natural foods and fats in favor of vegetable oils and "low fat/high sugar" snacks. The PUFAs in this are no-go #1. If you care about your health, you shouldn't consume PUFAs. The Soy has a low BV, and absolutely behaves in the body as an estrogen. This doesn't mean it lowers your testosterone or makes you grow breasts, but if you are a male and want your body to run at an optimal level, soy isn't your best choice.
