Here are the pro's for the Lenovo one at Costco:
Better construction with aluminum body
All USB 3 ports (the Asus laptop have 2 USB 2 ports)
2nd year warranty provided by Costco

Personally I went with the Asus one but that's just my preference. This has 15.6" screen and it has the numpad, which is nice for me. It's also $100 cheaper.

The choice is entirely up to personal preference and use case. If you need to lug the laptop around a lot, the 14" size (Lenovo) is probably easier.
I would prefer the Lenovo (Costco) one because it has a larger NVME SSD (512 GB) and they state that the screen is IPS.

It's also probably lighter since it's a 14 inch laptop.

The biggest drawback is the lack of a dedicated number pad. Your call.

IPS? ASUS says nothing about it and the specs page on their site is blank.

I believe it's TN. Though I currently have a Dell with an IPS and it's a horrible display that has IPS glow and every angle. So take your pick. There's been a lot of complaints about the screen on this one which is my biggest holdup. And now we're getting down to the price range of I can deal with it. I think.

Seems like good specs for the money except for perhaps the display... Asus seems to be hiding whether it's IPS or not... so beware.

I have the i3 version. I'm pretty sure it's IPS because the viewing angles are good. I am sure it's not greater than 63% sRGB because of the price, but the contrast is good and I have no complaint about the display.

I have the same question. Can some computer expert comment on which one is better? I'd also like to run docker on it (learning)

Would this be a good laptop to turn into a Chromebook?
