As an adult you can articulate injuries such as pain, degrees of pain, where it hurts, other medical conditions, etc. A toddler or infant would not be able to. Having a sign like this is hoping to create the same effect if you are engaging in another risky activity and if so to be careful with children around as simple as carrying heavy things around the house or opening a door really fast. So it's more or less be cautious and not a statement in terms of value of life.

I recall years ago they toyed with the idea of the Yoda's species being big and powerful then dramatically shrinking down as they aged
