How is this a deal? Discover has offered these cash back redemption rates for most of these merchants for over 10 years.
I'd suggest booking Airbnb with a card that offers travel protection, other GCS are pretty good deal, personally a fan of banana, but no office time lately, so no need for new clothes
You are essentially lending discover $1400 with 0% interest for a long time.. that would be at least $30 interest lost per year for you

All that cash not invested in VTI… seems like a missed opportunity

Hard to argue with that point. I've got plenty invested in the market but, looking back, it definitely would've been better invested. I do cash out $20 or $40 for the occasional dining or shopping GC (always with a bonus), but I usually earn it back and then some on the next statement. I guarantee, if I liquidated the acct for cash to invest, the Shell deal would come back the next day, with a 100% ROI.

This isn't a special deal, I have been using $40 of Discover points for $50 GC at Maggianos and Nike for years.

I guess I am saving the ignorant with my post. This is the "usual" cash back. At least judging by BBB: these are always at 20% off. Just don't load up on these as you can do it any day.
Agreed. I usually wait until I need something or for a good sale and redeem it. The e-certificates come instantly so theres no point in loading up

VTI is more or less the SP500. What you're investing in is basically the SP500 plus some other mixtures. The market has gone up tremendously

That's a great tip since the happy cards are 20% off and the regular Lowe's are only 10%.

I am considering the HAPPY MOMENTS card to use at Regal; they do not offer a Regal card by itself and 20%, too!

Yeah, These are the usual discounts for these stores. No limited time promo on any of the offers.

Let me know where you're getting that interest rate.

More of a PSA, not really a new deal, discover has always had this for years. Sometimes the percentages and stores change also, but thx for the effort.

anyone who got the "happy" gift card delivered can verify if they're VISA cards this time around?
I posted in the other thread too. For Happy Holidays, mine have an expiration of 5/2030 and are setup to run as credit when using them. See the pic I attached for the actual cards I got.

20% off GC price and good for Macy's, Gamestop, PF Changs, Chilli's, Ulta, Lowe's, and Red Lobster.

I like to grab Gamestop gift cards, and use them to buy Microsoft Xbox Gift cards. It's important to note that you cannot buy Xbox gift cards online with Gamestop gift cards, but they do work in-store!

This is so much better than the Gamestop gift cards I've been getting! Gamestop is 10% off, and Happy Holidays is 20% off! I then buy Xbox Gift Cards at Gamestop! Thank you!
