Seems like a great deal. However a lot of reviews about failure. I may just pass. Thanks for the post.

Can I put a SSD in any laptop? Even older ones?

This type won't go in just any laptop, especially older ones. Would be best to look up your specific model.

The drive is priced so cheap because of many issues. They are dumping it to clear the stock and stop producing the product line. Avoid this at all costs.

Thank you for the heads up! I was really interested in this . This is exactly why SD is so valuable.

This really shouldn't be front page, looks like people are buying this without reading the comments. More thumbs up than down.

Final fvckingly paid $69 for a 1TB SSD three years ago back in 2019 and now we are finally returning to realistic prices.

Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 8-32TB.

Everyone has been brainwashed to eat these high price because xyz reasons. It's easier and cheaper to print ssd NAND memory than make a hard drives yet you don't see those staying stationary at 1-2TB for the past 3 years.

Nope, wrong on all counts. These are cheap because they are trash, not that prices are coming down. Prices on quality SSDs in this form factor still cost about double this one does.

This site really has gone down hill because of this in the last 4-5 years. Hell, you even see extreme ymmv deals get to front page now. The thumbs up/down used to be a good way to gauge how legitimate a deal was. Don't know if people just blindly thumb up a deal because they like the price of something or it's a bunch of shrills doing it, either way it sticks.

Not that I want one after reading the comments, but I see a price of $83, which is actually the same price as the Team Group one someone linked to (https://www.newegg.com/team-group...6820331561)
"Funniest" thing is that Newegg still has a label on there saying "lowest price in 30 days", which is silly assuming this deal ever existed.
