First of all you can find the older model 4K for $100 at many retailers for the last few months and i am certain it will be on sale again on Black Friday.
Even if you cant find it, this at $160 pays for itself.
No ads, super quick navigation and scrubbing of videos, clean interface with the ability to close apps like on your phone something none of the streaming devices offers.
The only other comparable device is the Shield and the specific model that competes with the Apple TV 4k in speed costs well over $100.
If you are part of the Apple ecosystem then it's a no brainer to grab this:
- Seemless Airplay (much quicker than any TV with built in Airplay)
- Ability to hook up multiple Homepods /Homepod minis
- The ability to watch TV using your Airpods/Airpods Pro is probably the biggest feature.
Try to hook up bluetooth headphones to the Firestick/Google streaming device - it's lag city - no matter what bluetooth headphones ive tried there is ALWAYS lag at least 1-2 seconds - aka it's unwatchable.
Airpods with the Apple TV syncs flawlessly and with spatial audio it's amazing to watch shows with - until you try it you wont know how good it is.
If you dont have the money to buy it - that is perfectly fine - go buy a $30 Firestick.
But for others here, dont be dissuaded from purchasing THE best streaming device on the market, period.
Sure i can drive a Honda Civic and it would take me to the grocery store without problems, but Id rather drive a Mercedes.
Same applies here

If you mean 2 years of Costco concierge and 2 years of credit card warranty, I would say yes, all the electronics Costco sells pretty much qualify for that.
That being said, I'm not sure it would be important for an Apple TV, as I would assume a failure rate very close to zero, unless you take it with you from place to place.
As a matter of fact, I do take our Apple TV with us when going on vacation, yet I'm not concerned about it getting broken.

Yea I know failure rate is low, I have the original 4K one from 2017 which is still going strong. Heck I have the one before that's still working. I am just trying to justify buying from Costco instead of other places offering this at same price
... because costco is a more honest company than most others

If you have any plans on getting apple arcade, would really recommend getting the 64gb. I just signed up with apple one and almost immediately ran out of space on my appletvs.
