that squat cage is really nice. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I didnt already have one.

They're rubberized, but they're not Olympic bumper plates that you can just drop like at some gyms. The rubber helps prevent corrosion and feels nicer to pick up. I wouldn't recommend dropping them or they'll likely eventually crack the coating.

They had this weight set twice earlier this year, once in April and another in June. Previously, the promotion was $499.99, but using the Costco Citi to buy it would get you a $150 Costco gift card. I was able to combine it with a $50 off $500 (and had to buy a filler to push the total to at least $500).

The chrome clips flake, and I mean a lot. I thought I could just clean off enough of it and it would stop, but after two to three weeks of it flaking continuously, I ended up using some Flex seal spray to double coat them (coat it, let it dry, coat it once more). It's holding up for the most part. The flakes digging into your hands were hard to pull out.

Also there's a strong rubber smell on all of the plates. I recommend to use a paper towel and wipe them down and then leave it somewhere to air out, preferably in the garage if you have one. I tried letting it air out in my basement and the smell lingered for at least two weeks. I had to bring my air purifier down and let it run for a week before all of the strong smells were gone.

For ~$300 + filler + tax, it was delivered and likely a much nicer set than the Dunham's one mentioned. You might be able to hold out and see if they'll have that promo run again.

How are people chatting with Costco to get a $50 off $500 coupon? I don't see a what to chat with someone online anywhere on the website. Are people calling the warehouses directly?

*Edit* Never mind. Turns out there was a small box at the bottom of the different reasons for Support and if you click that "Contact Us" box, it brings you to the chat option.

Damn. Both are available in my zip.

Is the weight set at $400 a really good deal?
For balanced and rubber coated grip weights? I think so. Most bars like this are around $100 on their own which puts the plates just over $1/lb and that's a great price right now especially since they are rubberized grip plates.

Considering the Dick's deal was really popular for the exact same number of weights and $300, but that this bar has a 700lb capacity vs Dick's 300lb, this is pretty decent.

Not sure how this is frontpage...

This really isn't a great deal for this type of rack.
Titan Fitness and Archon both have comparable racks for this price or cheaper. Titan also has a lot of attachments available for their racks. If you aren't able to go for Rogue I would go with Titan or Archon before this. Titan T3 or X3 would both be great.
Or even a GRIND half rack. (I prefer half racks for home use anyway!).

You don't need to spend a ton of money on a rack for home use. As long as it is sturdy and can hold the weight it will be fine. Better spending money on a good bar, a solid bench (wide), and some bumpers. FWIW...the bars that come with these sets are trash.

*I am a HS teacher and have a gym with 6 ROGUE 390 racks so we can lift off both sides for 12 stations.... and, while ROGUE is awesome stuff it is a bit overkill for home use. We have a cheap half rack in our basement at home but have a nice older model York split collar bar and some nice bumper plates. I did build a nice platform for my rack but you don't need to spend a ton of money on a rack that isn't going to get commercial use. Most home racks get less than 4 hours of use a week (and that includes rest times!).

I really considered this rack for a while. However, I decided against it because it does not have west-side spacing (close hole spacing in the bench/squat spotter range) which helps if you solo-lift. West-side spacing isn't at all required, and some people may actually find it annoying since it becomes harder to index your heights, but I like the extra precise positioning for my style of lifting.

I decided on getting the following Titan T-3 (2x3) rack for $450:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/133785209569

Advantages Inspire:
Landmine
External Spotter Arms
Dip Bars
Better pullup bar

Advantages Titan T-3:
Westside spacing
Band pins
4 bar holders
$450 ($200 less)
YES! This... much better set up with lots of available attachments!!
And, Titan will have all of that available as add ons anyway. And, their dip station is much better (identical to Rogue's Matador).

Anyone know how the knurling is on the barbell?

Also for those who requested a 50 off 500 coupon through their chat, is it as simple asking for it? How are you wording it? 😅

I was just about to ask how this compares to the everyday price of Dick's $399. I didn't know that Dick's bar couldn't handle the weight. Wink Good to know, thanks!

Lookout ladies, buff me is in the making. In for 1. For the coupon questioners - start the chat before you order, simply ask for the coupon - they will come back and let you know - yes for me, so thanks for all who posted about it.

Is there a bargain accessory that fits for lat pulls?
