You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

I am with TM and max plus plan (employer pays for the service and not for the device). There is option to pay in terms of bill credits after adjusting for trade in credit. I will have option to pay up with TM anytime and unlock the device.

TM has its own deal with bill credits. They are giving me $100 for trade in and rest of it is going to refunded as bill credit and cover most of device cost.

With BB, I get more trade in value. Wondering if i can go with payment plan and see if TM do bill credits as well?
I don't see any way to significantly double dip unless you start a brand new 12 or 12 Mini on a bill credits deal and then trade THAT device in at Best Buy prior to the end of this $200 boost in trade-in values.

Is it that hard to make a decision on $1 transaction? You can go with that or deposit $2 + 50 cents fee at sickw.com and have a balance there whenever you need to check iphone info for 30 cents per check!

Understand. Thanks for the information. Without any proof it is not possible to force TM to pay bill credits in this case. I can go with TM but i will miss boost in trade. They actually offered $100 as trade in value for XS.

Hi do you set no data in your online act setting? Or the phone? Thank you
Did you get an answer to this? Ultimately what we really need is the SOC code, look that up for you not T-Mobile folks, that's the key right there getting that SOC code.

Many thanks to those who contributed information to this thread! I went out to the store to get in on this deal and finished setting up the iPhone not long ago. They gave me the phone with the SIM taped to the box so when I got home I simply inserted my AT&T SIM card (As I am currently on an AT&T family plan). The phone is now locked to AT&T as per the settings and I'll send an unlock request shortly.

What am I supposed to do with the T-Mobile account I opened for the phone? I didn't get any paperwork when I left Best Buy, they just gave me the phone and that was the end of it. Will I be able to call and cancel it or since I didn't activate the phone is it automatically deactivated?

Were you able to find it in your online account profile "turn off data"? A SOC code is a identifier for a specific feature on T-Mobile, so if the person that has this wonderful benefit could identify the SOC code (Google how to do that, hint, Reddit), then it would help other people to have the same feature on their plans by requesting it specifically by the SOC identifier

My straight talk order just got delivered this morning and I see the deal is over now! :-(. Do I have any good (meaning 'SD') option now other than returning it?

Only $30 less to trade in 12 mini from $630 to $600. Still a decent price!

This has come up repeatedly in recent days. If you haven't received e-mail traffic from TMobile welcoming you and telling you to set up your online access it is likely you can just leave everything alone and the new account order will automatically cancel. At least two SDers chatted/called T-Mobile CS to ask. I think we are reaching the point where TMo and Best Buy will shut down this system, what with no new customer acquisitions despite subsidizing countless transactions at the tune of $200 a pop.

Let us know what happens!

For TMo customer service to unlock, the SIM card must go into the phone so it is a "known" device on their network. In September they were accepting receipts and phone info and sending it to a third party company who promised unlock within 72 hours. I understand some folks were wanting to gift wrap a sealed box as a holiday gift so they were looking to unlock a phone in a sealed box. It is inherently pseudo-unlocked because of the "universal flex" implementation by Apple.

Dan
They still did this for me last week. Provided IMEIs and Best Buy receipt and they initiated an unlock request with the offline team. Took 2 days and they were unlocked. But I still opened the boxes to confirm under settings.
