You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Hi, late to the thread here, i am not a t-mobile customer, I was thinking through the options of upgrading from my current iPhone 11 Pro max to the iPhone 13 pro max, the Best Buy calculations were 426.49 including taxes (399 + 6.625 percent tax), so now how long would I need to be on the t-mobile plan before I can cancel? I can cancel as soon as I get the phone unlocked which seems to vary from 3 days to 40 days? which means I should add one to two months of the minimum t-mobile plan to the total cost -- 426.49 + 90/180?

the other option is to go through apple and pay 638.88 for upgrading from 11 pro max to 13 pro max (I get a 500 dollar trade in from apple directly)

Do I need to stay with Tmobile for 2 months to switch back to my own carrier? Cheapest t mobile is 65$, which is 40$ more expensive. So i need to pay 80$ plus activation fee.

I might just trade in on apple.com for 100$ less but save all the hassle.

Can I request unlock without opening the phone and insert a T-mobile sim card?
Tmo twitter said the phone is not yet locked to them without inserting a Tmo SIM card, does that mean I can put a SIM card of different carrier and use it?

1) You don't have to pick a post paid T-Mobile plan from Best Buy to get this deal. You can sign up for the plan anywhere and have it active before trading in your device at Best Buy.
2) If you cancel the plan immediately out of the store then you won't be able to unlock the phone because you are no longer with T-Mobile.
3) Yes, you can. But, you have to be with T-Mobile and wait times are long. People had success unlocking anywhere between 3 days to 40 days after getting the iPhone 13. T-Force can override the system after 30 days.
4) With service, of course. Otherwise you are no longer with T-Mobile and why would they unlock the phone?
5) Cracked front or back. Totally depends on the rep helping you but more than likely it won't fly.

I'm still getting a "We're sorry, there was an issue processing your request. Please try again later," when trying to connect tmobile on Best Buy's site. I physically went to 3 stores and they said they can't help me. (T-Mobile and Best Buy Stores.) I've tried over the phone and online and still nothing. I'm on a Magenta max line, with no business or company set up. It's just a family line. I have some free lines that were grandfathered into my plan, but nothing else. Short codes are enabled on the lines, along with line protection is off as well. Both companies are pointing to one another blaming one another. So far I'm stuck. If anyone has any useful info, I would appreciate it.
