You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

if u are on Magenta Max plan, you'll get a lot more trade-in value from t-mobile directly or apple.com but it'll involve monthly credit, and auto enrollment into forever trade-in.

Slickdeals isn't letting me quote, but for those who tried to help, ty. Turns out our Magenta plan was a Magenta 1.0 plan. So 4G, not 5G. Costs $5 more per line to upgrade but I guess that's the price to pay.

Try calling Best Buy mobile support. They may be able to help.

Has anyone successfully preordered the phone online for delivery to the store for pickup, had it actually ship to the store, and already picked it up along with handing over their trade-in device in-store?

I am debating doing that if possible rather than make a long drive to a store currently with stock on hand. I don't mind waiting for delivery to a local store as long as it all works out according to plan.

For example, what happens if the trade values change and this deal no longer exists by the time the phone is delivered to the store 3 weeks from now ? Am I locked into the deal once the preorder transaction is completed? Or will Best Buy pull a switcheroo and tell me that my iPhone 12 is no longer worth $725 if the deal is dead by the time my iPhone 13 is delivered to the store?

Nope. It needs to be registered on their network for T-Mobile to unlock it.

So many helpful SD's on this post!!! Thanks to everyone for the help. This turned out to be SUPER easy! The whole process was about about 2 hours (and 1.5hrs was waiting for the email saying it was ready, and the drive to/from Best Buy). I was in BB a whopping 15 minutes max.

If I have iPhone 12 from TMO Mother's Day deal in 2021, and am getting monthly credits for 24 months for that iPhone 12, can I still trade in iPhone 12 for 13? Will I continue to receive the rest of 24 monthly credits for the iPhone 12 I trade in for this deal? Thanks

During checkout, do you see the additional $200 off, I'm not seeing that even though I'm adding a new line to an existing Tmobile account.

It is baked into the Best Buy pricing. For example, I traded an Iphone11 -that was supposed to be $550 value. But, when I picked it up, it said $350 and I started to freak out. Turns out they do $350 +$200 promo to reach $550.

TOTALLY COMES OFF THE COST of the new phone. Nothing comes from TM on your bill, credits, etc.

I was able to request unlock 3 phones successfully from this promotion almost immediately after purchase via Twitter, phones indicating "no SIM restriction" about 2-3 days after request submission. For the 4th phone, rep on twitter submitted the unlock request without me opening the phone to activate since I'm planning to gift the phone to family overseas.
