You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

They didn't activate in store, they gave me two SIM cards with the phones and sent me away

I am not on tmobile, but have a friend who shared his account - phone & last 4 ssn.

So when i 'add a line' on bestbuy deal :-
- do i need to have a tmob sim(postpaid/prepaid + number) with me which will be added to the primary group? (while placing order / after checkout)
- or when i go to pickup, they will give me new sim/number and activate it on the primary account in store

Upgrade, use one of the existing TMO sim cards to activate and then pop in your Mint sim, it will work. It has been discussed here that TMO locked phones accept Mint sims

Not sure about Sprint account, also a fellow user who PMed me said he got a multiple order error but when I placed my two orders on Monday I did it within 10 minutes for the same line

10/23 I ordered 3 phones and have 3 tradeins. Got 2 phones right away but the last phone has been on back order for over a month and supposed to be available for pickup today. Just a message tonight that they are trying to fill the order in the next few days. The problem is that the person who needs this phone will be returning home to another state in two days. Very disappointed.

As i said, i am not on tmobile (so no existing sim card with me)..
so, i have to get a new sim card (basically new connection ? ) for activation and then use mint (once tmo sim is activated)
but will tmo unlock the device (since it will not be active on tmo network, but active on mint which uses tmo)
