Been hunting for a sub $1000 3060 laptop but it seems those deals have dried up.

Lo and behold looks like bestbuy has some sort of sale going on right now and this is featured.

Not a great laptop by any means. Last gen i5 10500h, low wattage 3060 (80w), small battery, no usb C charging...the list of crap this doesn't have is long but price is right.

Probably the worst performing 3060 laptop on the market but will still blow away the 3050 for the same amount of money.

Should be good for a year or two or three until next gen mobile GPUs are out.

Just make sure to add another 8gb stick of ram to make it dual channel. Current single channel configuration (1x8gb) is gonna really hurt FPS.

Also as an added bonus its light for a gaming laptop at 4.10 lbs

Agreed. Even if you were to get the LHR of the RTX 3060, the ROI is still just 10 months for this laptop if used for mining. Honestly, this is an excellent deal. For some reason people are expecting a $2000 worth of performance for an $800 laptop. Literally the only down side this laptop has is the RAM, which can be very easily and quickly upgraded. In fact, regardless of what laptop you get, you should always look to replace the RAM regardless as manufacturers during the pandemic have begun replacing RAM with a very slow RAM that only has half of the chips that they used to causing a 30% loss of performance. They are doing that to save a couple of bucks per machine and unfortunately the only way to know which RAM you are getting is by opening the laptop up and looking yourself since the RAM speed is never listed for laptops.
Old CPU and low watt GPU. Price seems decent. I'd wait till black Friday.

Honestly... That's not a bad deal. The CPU and wattage-limited GPU are actually a good match for 1080p gaming. 4.1 lbs is a bonus. You'll want to undervolt and maybe repaste, but a very decent performer.

Not true, though - the Lenovo ThinkBook and the Asus g14 are both 60w versions.

I have was doing 50MH/s and after like 8 hours made 50 cents on ETH. didn't like the fans running high speed and all that just for minimum amount of money.

So this lists that it has an RTX 3060...but it doesn't specify how much memory the GPU has. Is it a full 8GB like the desktop variants? I ask because they also sold a laptop with a RTX 3050 recently with just 4GB of graphics memory.
