Yes, that Microcenter deal is in-store only and most people don't live anywhere near a microcenter so it's not even an option.

If you have a micro center in town, $999 is a better choice. i7 vs i5, much better.

Good deal. I like it for what it is - cheapest rtx 3060 gaming laptop to be had for <$900 new...

With a few tweaks, most of it's cons are mitigated:
Pop in another 8gb ram, umdervolt it a tad, and limit the turbo levels. Then it'll plays most recent titles at mid to high graphics settings fine and won't get too hot/thermally throttle at all.
