Picked this up a couple of weeks ago but wanted to make sure it was a good laptop before posting it here. Honestly surprised it wasn't posted already as for the money, it's pretty hard to beat right now.

Also cannot believe I am about to say this, but should you pick up this laptop, MSI Center and MSI App Player are both great apps and I would recommend keeping them as opposed to doing a clean install of Windows.

MSI center has pretty easy to read hardware monitoring, BUT Battery Master is the actual star of the app (see images)

And MSI App Player is a pretty great Android emulator I've found myself using quite a few times (see images)

The laptop is pretty easy to get into, requires 12 screws (one is hidden under the warranty sticker) but they are all the same length so you don't need to worry about remembering where they go.

Once inside, the laptop is VERY user upgradable as the existing Wi-Fi, NVMe SSD, and 2 existing ram sticks can all be upgraded. There is even an empty 2.5" drive bay.

I upgraded my ram to one of the cheaper 32GB kits on Amazon and they are running at their rated speed, so you can most likely buy any 3200 MHz CL22 kit out there and they'll probably work out.

Uses a 2 Fan, 6 copper heat pipe design to cool the CPU and GPU and I must say, it does a surprisingly good job considering like most budget laptops, they decided to choke the fans by not having cutouts where the fans actually are.

I can confirm that the sustained all core clock when gaming is 3.6 Ghz. Also maintains that clock during a 10 minute cinebench r23 run, although at 95c and with the fans going full tilt. (see screenshot)

While doing anything else though it's almost always over 4 Ghz, typically around 4.4-4.5 Ghz (things like unzipping files, copying data, installing programs, using the included Android emulator, etc.)
The model that comes with the RTX 3060 has a second, empty m.2 slot, this model doesn't, but does have that empty 2.5" drive bay
Yes it is

It's fine for gaming but I wouldn't do any professional color work on it or expect HDR to work that great (though it does support it). Reviews seem to state that it covers about 58% of the sRGB color gamut, but it's plenty responsive in games and has good viewing angles

Seems like the CPU may limit the fps, since it's really just 2.3ghz under real world conditions, when it heats up, it's mostly going to only be at 2.3ghz all cores. Thoughts?

A mobile card will never be better than a desktop card. It's just a space and heat problem.
