Not bad, but holding out for 12TB at this price, or 14TB for $200. I think we'll be there by BF.
Maybe, but that price isn't comparable. This is $18/TB, you are holding out for like $14/TB.
That's pretty optimistic. I think my last purchases were end of 2019 where I got in on a semi-coupon price mistake @ Staples and got 10TBs for $120+tax, and that was a bonkers deal.
I think aiming for $14/TB is still a bit pie in the sky, but yeah...maybe BF will have it.
At the very least, I can't believe there won't be a comparable deal like this within the next month. Unless you need the drive right now, I would wait for BF/CM, same is true of just about everything at this point.
Looks good! Grabbed it! My last 10TB WD Elements was also from Newegg, $174 w/ tax in Jul 2020. For 2021 prices, $190 w/ tax and free shipping ain't bad...

Meh. I know the prices went up recently due to shortages but come on. For years the price was $160 for 10TB with some deals occasionally pushing lower. $180 is meh if you don't need it now.
Summary of above comments:
- No, this is not the lowest price ever (for reference, I purchased 14TB drives for $190 ea less than a year ago)
- This is an acceptable price for 2021, given all the material and manufacturing shortages
- Newegg does not offer price protection, and prices will likely drop more throughout the holiday season
Tl;dr - the recommendation is to hold off for a few more weeks unless you need the storage right this minute
