CVS is one of the few places that take PayPal QR codes as payment. It's been recommended to use self checkout, if possible. Once you add the gift card, DO NOT click any payment method on the self checkout terminal. Instead, scan your PayPal QR code like you are buying something. Then it will allow you to checkout and pay with PayPal.
If it does indeed stack with the 2% back at drug stores as the other thread suggests, that's 11% back on up to $1500.

If you apply for Flex now, it is almost certain there will be a grocery category in 2022.
That will stack and give you 9%.
Make sure that when you apply that the terms are 5% for grocery for the first year.
I have read that Chase is offering different sign-on terms.
.
So you get 5% on those.
You will get also 5% on the grocery.
Had you been able to use Paypal with grocery (Giant Eagle), you would get 9%.

In your hypothetical case, you have another $1000 to spend on grocery and get the 5%.
They are two different offers where Paypal is the only overlap.

9% of $350 = $31.50 with just a few clicks. :-)

What other cards will give you more than this? I'm struggling to think of any... Read my comment right below yours. And even at 5%, it's probably the best reward available in all credit cards.
I'm saying that if I try to use this card for something like travel in order to get the bonus, and then they don't give it to me because I didn't get the email, I will only get 1%, when I could have used another credit card that has much better than 1%
I see, just maximize by going to CVS and buy some VGC'S. Then use those VGC'S for your travel expenses or whatever.. 11% is a lot. You might even want to think about transferring your points to a hotel or airline partner and book. I never use my points for CB or book direct in chase app.
I don't think you know what I'm saying: there's no guarantee that everyone is going to get this 11% that has the freedom flex, this promotion could very well be targeted. I received no email from Chase about this promotion so I would be risking myself trying to get it. If I go and buy these vgc's you're talking about with my card and only get 1-5% reward from it, that would have been a pretty dumb waste of time, don't you think?
1% base + 2% drugstores + 4% Paypal at CVS
This is per the Chase FAQ.
It should be 9% when stacked with the 5% top spend category offer.
Drugstores is a top spend category.

Shoprite (Grocery) offers their own giftcards online and Paypal can be used as payment. Assuming grocery is the top spending category, and I buy their giftcards online will the bonus points be:
5% for PayPal
4% for Year I grocery Bonus
4% for Top Spending Category
===================
13% Total
Note that in Chase's FAQ they confirm Q4 Paypal and Q4 Top Category Bonus together and
Q4 Top Category Bonus and Year I grocery together, but not all three.
