IPS has much better consistency across the screen. Due to VA inherited technology, when you view anything that are not in the center on VA screen, it's just not the same colorwise. That is why you will see that virtually all professional grade monitors are IPS and not VA.

When you say it rotates, you mean all the texts and images on the screen rotate too right? Like viewing a photo in portrait mode on a cell phone. Is there a setting to do that? Sorry for the noob question.

Windows Control Panel Display Settings, scroll down to Display Orientation. It should let you change between Landscape, Portrait, Landscape (flipped), Portrait (flipped).

Also purchased, hope it works out well bc the ergo stand is a nice feature for this price.

I know this isn't a commonly wanted thing, but does anyone think this monitor would work with 3d vision glasses? I picked up a pair of used glasses and an asus pg248q and….. wow do the colors suck compared to my other monitors so really hoping to find something better in that regard.

Can anyone comment on how this runs games, graphics quality wise, in 1080p?

Family member has a 1080p 24", and I'd like to upgrade him to a 1440p monitor, but the 580x won't be able to push respectable framerates at 1440p (I know because it's my old card). I will not be buying a new GPU at the current stupidly-expensive prices.

I'm thinking he can take advantage of 1440p for web browsing and less intensive games (Minecraft, etc) but things like COD or Valorant will have to run at lower than native resolution

I grabbed two of these to compliment a 35in 3440x1440 monitor. Currently have two Dell's of the same resolution, but the LG mounts are so attractive and will free up a massive amount of desk space for me. Easy buy at this price. I prefer QHD vs 4K for productivity, personally.

What games are you playing AND what would you consider 'respectable' for framerates? 60 FPS+? 100 FPS+?

I have a 1060 6gb and run respectable framerates in 1440p no problem. In BR games (at least for me) the upgrade in visual fidelity from 1080p to 1440p made a world of a difference, much more than framerates did.
I never played Valorant, so I can't comment on that, but for Warzone, Modern Warfare, and Cold War 1440p is miles ahead of 1080p.
