Awesome, now debating if I should wait till black friday or pull the trigger. Most likely buy now and think later.
External Wacom-type things work very well.
If not, I suggest looking for a "dell inspiron chromebook 14 7486" - Why?? It has WACOM EMR Battery-less Stylus built-in. On ebay, people are giving them away imo. It has one of the best screens 100%+ sRGB, and VERY color accurate I've seen on any reasonably priced device. I have 5 of these to do what I need to do in the remote world. They are all 8th gen i3 processors. I bought them all on ebay for about $200 each for an all-aluminum build.

Ive seen office depot sell them for 760. To me, thats $50 more for 50% more battery.
How does perkks at work, work?

Notice the "?groupId=beneplaceoffer" at the end. Use code Beneplacegold
I do recommend swapping out the WiFi card for something better (Intel WiFi6)

I clicked on the link but it asks for a passcode
edit, nevermind that's where you enter Beneplacegold

Edit: I was so close. I was willing to accept the 8 hour battery life.
If you're able to accept a 5500U, the code works on the cheaper laptop, bringing the total to $582, but it is lacking the same ram and storage. Buying those after the fact will eat into the savings vs. the 5700U. You might be able to do some cost optimization with adding a 2.5 SSD to it.

I just bought the Lenovo $129 Chromebook to use in my lap, waiting for a laptop with the right specs at the right price. Maybe for Black Friday there will be one with a better screen or 1T SSD…. I wouldn't use one like this on my lap, anyway.
