Why 'probably'?
I did not get a chance to look compare the two earlier and figured I'd rather buy warranted tools from Home Depot versus Walmart.
Yeah, the HD deal is better! IMHO.

Craftsman stuff is much better than this Wallyworld crap. May go on sale for this same price at Ace around the holidays like it did last year.

The HD version has 72 tooth ratchet gear but with the combo wrenches, so if you just want number of tools, then HD is indeed a better deal, no doubt. However, if you a casual DIYers with tight space in your vehicle. You may want to consider the Hart version due to the number of teeth on the drive gear. The tooth count corresponds to how far you need to move the ratchet before you hear the clicking noise.

For example, I recently changed the o2 sensor on my car, the sensor is located in a tight area where I'm only able to turn a little at a time. With a 72 count, I may have to pull out the socket and readjust each turn, but with a 90 count I may not need to do so.

Things you may not think it's important until you're cursing away while working on your car. If anything, I think the $20 basic mechanics set is something folks should look into.

This set is very heavy on the 1/4" drive sockets, less on the 3/8 and the 1/2" selection is laughable especially since they're all 12 point. They also add some really uncommon sizes and a bunch of bit tips to pad out their tool count. The 90 tooth ratchets are pretty nice - I actually own the 3/8" version with their universal socket and it's great, but they're not a good reason to buy this kit.

I've done a piece-by-piece comparison of several of the popular kits, spreadsheet is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zzkh62u....xlsx?dl=0

Hart is a TTI brand, same as Milwaukee, Ryobi, etc, it's equivalent to Husky IMO and likely comes out of the same factories considering HD's relationship with TTI. It's definitely not the same as the other HyperTough tools at Walmart which are junk (with a few interesting exceptions).

Craftsman has taken a step down in quality, IMO, after it's acquisition by Black & Decker. It's not the same as it used to be.

The difference between a 72t and 90t ratchet is just so insignificant. You can do much better having a more complete set and upgrading the ratchets.

There is a new HART 270 piece set I saw today w/ wrenches and is also priced @ $98.
