I'm leary of anything cheap with 12 pt sockets. They round bolts on rusted ones on vehicles in my experience. Lots of salt in the midwest.

I have this inside my car as a spare tool kit. Has it for about 2-3 months now.
It was used a few times already.
I recommend it for this price.

What brands don't do this?

Mostly the expensive 12 point ones. I use 6 point sockets and wrenches so they hold against the flat sides. Even the cheaper ones work good this way and many work just as good as the expensive ones. My current set is a teckin (spelling) I ordered from Amazon. Not expensive and seem like great quality. All 6 points.

I'm a milwaukee guy but hart has been getting a lot of good reviews (bang for the buck) for their power tools. I'd assume their hand tools are of similar high value proposition quality.

In case someone looking at this didn't notice... this has no wrenches, so imho this isn't a all in one "starter" type of mechanics set like this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PXN00BS (picked this up for $99 on an SD a year or so ago, and even with inflation I still see these at $100 regularly). I certainly wouldn't ONLY have this in the car as an emergency kit with no wrenches... no pliers, etc.

The Hart store brand from Walmart, in my experience, is on par with Huskey and Kobalt store brands from Home Depot and Lowe's .

Great for the home gamer. Just don't expect tool truck quality from this set that's less then a benji.
