Lowes is currently running a promotion where if you buy the Dewalt two tool power detect combo kit that Includes a 8ah battery, a 8aH charger, the three speed XR impact driver (DCF887), and the Power Detect Hammer Drill (DCD998), you get another Power Detect tool for free. The combo is also $100 off right now.

If you are not familiar with power detect tools, they have increased performance and runtime when using a 6ah battery or larger.

Good deal, comparable to the Home Depot one, if you intend to keep both the kit and the tool. The Home Depot one is $400 with 2 free tools, and a different battery configuration

Note that only a few stores in my area have the $299 price, so you may need to check around

Is this [homedepot.com] the HD deal you're referring to? I see in the featured image "Get two free tools" but there's no mention of it anywhere in the product listing and no way to choose any free tools. Do you have any more info on that?

It's available in stores right now but it looks like they just started stocking the kits in the last day or two. Online customer service can't seem to find anything about the sale, but I'm guessing they're waiting for the stock to stabilize in stores before doing the sale online

Anyone know if this deal is live, setup and stocked in Lowes B&M (buy in store, not in store pickup) I have some store credit I need to use up, in store only.

Power Detect tools are a Lowe's exclusive I believe… they are somewhere between 20v and flexvolt performance.

I think it is. I went to do store pickup and ended up going inside to pickup. They had an end cap near the front of the store with all of the tools in the promo, but there was no signage…

Just keep in mind if all you are going after is the battery you can get 8ah real Dewalt batteries new on the 'bay for $100-$130.
For people starting off this is a good deal, but if you already have these tools, it doesn't really pay to buy to put the extra tools up for sale.

It's showing 13 available for me at local Lowes at $299 with free promo tool.
Good deal for these tools. These are not the $99 Father's Day or BF special bargain plastic ones.

The truth is I have a 9xx series and it's a beast. And because it's so big and heavy-duty I actually don't use it for most things I typically do, and instead opt for something smaller and lighter which is often all I need. But it's good to have something like this for serious work.
