As of now, Lowe's website says they have over 5,000 units available for shipping.

About everything was top of the line here when new but basically all are 1-2 generations old, this will help you save some money and get good tools.
DCD998/DCD999 has a stronger option: DCD1007 (but the 1007 is quite a bit larger)
DCF887 has a few newer options: DCF850 (shorter but a bit wider), DCF845 (XR labeled, similar dimensions), DCF860 (newest & strongest but much heavier/wider)
current version of 8 amp charger is a 2stage (this is single, potentially same operation but newer ones display charge state better.
8ah battery can now be had in a POWERPACK which is much stronger
2ah battery is pretty decent for lightweight and lower current tools, would be good for impact but likely not drill. I'd say the upgrade for this is the 1.7ah POWERSTACK (usually the one that doesn't display it's AH rating)
