Please save yourself the hassle and don't buy this garbage. I purchased the same blender from Costco a couple months ago and it died. It seem like the motor burned and the smell was completely awful.
Exact same thing happened to me.
Good thing you can return it for a full refund with no questions asked.
I've had mine for 2 years and have had no issues. Sorry you had a bad experience.

can't comment personally, but serious eats liked the two Cuisinart immersion blenders they tested performance-wise. the drawback was a safety switch that has to be held down whike pressing power. I've got the breville which has similar attachments, and they come in handy. for the price this is probably good enough for 90% of home cooks, and if the motor burns out, well it's costco

I didn't buy this set, but the blender by itself and the whisk attachment when it was on sale at Costco for around $20. I ended up returning it. The whish attachment has plastic gears on it and just after using it for the first time whipping up meringue it rattled from broken plastic gears. Looks like this has the same poorly constructed whish attachment adapter unfortunately.
