Apple must have really engineered the Watch charger to be really difficult to recreate, as the third party ones I've purchased have taken up to a day to reach full charge (while also getting super hot (Super! Hot!)) and none of these accessories ever take a shot at including their own charging tech on the stand/tower for the watch. Apple Shareholders 1, Consumers 0.

I had the same experience with a generic travel charger. It would get hot and stay hot all night through to the morning when charging. Scary. Anyway, I was looking for a one piece travel charger(no wire) and this design kind of satisfies that with the detachable portion. I ordered one.

I can see where you're coming from. In my case though, I have a sport loop(velcro) band. This should work perfectly because the band stays looped when I take it off my wrist. The company should have chose a different style band for the picture.

Not really, though I can see why you would think that from the photo. Don't forget that your Apple charging cable (which you put inside the tower) is magnetic, so the watch is going to stay in place regardless of what kind of band you use. I have a similar knockoff brand (Mankiw) and the charger is angled at 45 degrees and a good three inches off the base yet still stays in place. This model, once the usb A connector is in place, will have the watch both held in place magnetically, and resting flush with the base.

I got this about a month ago from a previous slickdeal. It works well. You have to use your own watch charger, which you insert into the stand. The watch band doesn't get in the way or have to be positioned in any special way. I have to original Apple band that came with the watch. The magnet holds the watch in place and the band just sticks out to the sides and doesn't cause any problems.

It's a simple but good charging station. Not as flashy or pretty as some of the other stations I've seen on Amazon, but it works well and is a great price.
