Have had this table for 5 years. Use it everyday lift it up and down. Works great to eat on the couch or snack on stuff. Can easily lift up and down with a full meal including the juice pitcher.

Holds alot of weight once up but can tip over if the storage does not have enough weight to anchor it.

Will last if you keep opening it by eavenly lifting it and closing it. I can see how easily someone can rip the brackets off the frame by trying to lift with a load from one coner.

Weed table? More like coke table. It even lifts up to face level for ergonomic snorting!

Seems like a great price for a lift top table. I haven't owned this specific coffee table, but my former was a Mainstays and it fell apart quickly. Don't think I would buy another from them personally.

Seems like a great price for a lift top table. I haven't owned this specific coffee table, but my former was a Mainstays and it fell apart quickly. Don't think I would buy another from them personally.

I have this table and it puts in work. This thing will last you with decent care. I recently broke a leg off mine because I have dragged it to different areas of the room 50+ times. It was bound to happen. The finish is great, but it will scratch, and you can deteriorate the finish fairly quickly if you constantly have alcohol falling on it. in my case I would spray it down with alcohol to clean it.

Why... you wanna rig it so the plate is mouth high while you're on the couch?

The mechanism is designed to support the weight of the top and maybe a pound or two. Otherwise it would be difficult to close.
It's not designed to lift.
Maybe you can retrofit it with hydraulic cylinders.
