It's the entry level model. There's A1, B1, C1, G1. JIMO... at only $200 more, the C1, for the upgrades you get, is well worth it.

Note it's an A1 without hdmi 2.1
From reading the side by side comparison to the C1, here are the trade offs for the A1:

3 HDMI ports instead of 4, no hdmi 2.1, not as good maximum brightness, no black frame insertion for motion smoothing, and slightly worse at handling reflections.

do not use an oled as your main work monitor. You will most likely get burn in and come crying to the forums. Just check linus video on youtube....
I've been using the 48" CX as my only PC monitor for over a year working from home. Absolutely zero burn in or image retention of any kind. I also bought the five year warranty from Best Buy just in case. I have not had to use it.

A risk is a risk. No point discussing further/ you're right it hasn't happened to you that doesn't mean anything for the risk of it happening to someone else .

Hope you never get burnin but it's inherent in the oled technology. And I've seen many complain of burnin when using as a monitor.

It will really depend but assuming the person works 8 hours a day using similar programs everyday . They will get burnin once enough hours are accumulated .

What you say is also true. However, I'm not going to avoid buying a sports car just because there's a chance of getting into a car accident. We take risks everyday. The risk of burn in is worth it for the best picture quality on the market. Point blank, period.

I personally don't understand how you need an OLED for work activities.

Movies ok , gaming ok. Excel sheet or PowerPoint or adobe or programming? Not sure

But you do you happy you love your oled. I also love my CX

I bought the 48 C1 so I can also TV when not working. I thought it maybe too big for work, but the extra screen real estate is awesome. Much better than when I had 2 monitors side by side. With 2 monitors I could have one good size app window on each or 4 half-screens which are uncomfortable. With the 48, I can have 3 good windows along the bottom 2/3 of the monitor (top section is too high to use frequently), and use the top 1/3 for less frequently used items like calendar, todo list, etc.
everyone is different, but perfect for me.

as someone who uses OLED TV: while the OLED has come down the price a lot since i bought mine, mini LED like QN90A with 800 local dimming zones does come VERY close to the black level, and their brightness is about few times higher than OLED without the annoy ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter) that you will experience ALL the time in real content consumption.
the only problem with mini LED TV (good ones anyways), is the off center view angle. but if that's not a issue for you, then i'd skip OLED.

Where can we get mini LED tv for comparable prices?

amazon? best buy?
comparable price to A1 series? TCL 646 is a cheap mini LED option even at regular price. QN90A isn't that more expensive, and possiblely the same when it goes on sale.

A1 comes with 65/55/48 inches, priced at 1500/1200/950 (amazon regular price at this moment, obviously sales will go on from time to time). this is also a lowest end of LG OLED that doesn't have HDMI 2.1 or 120 Hz refresh screen.

with that in mind
TCL 646, 75 inch goes for 1300, 65 inch goes for 1200, 55 goes for 800. but they have low number local dimming zones.

65 inch QN90A sales for 1700, 55 in goes for 1300, which i'd argue is also within the range of the A series.

if i were to replace my CX today, i would go with the dual cell (U9DG) from hisense that provide 2M local dimming zones.

Are OLED TV worth if you're just watching Netflix and other streaming services? I don't play console games and will likely not use it as a monitor since I have the Samsung 49" Ultrawide. Would it be worth the upgrade?

Yes. If you watch a lot of movies. Netflix has Dolby Vision, makes the viewing experience that much better.

i wonder if i should just spend the extra $200 to get the C1 over the A1 48"? It's a secondary tv in a small room...i don't play games. How much brighter is the C1 over the A1? My primary tv is the 65" CX in living room.

If it's a dark room, the extra bright C1 and not being used for gaming than it probably won't matter that much. Save the $200 Smilie
