These are pretty heavy.... if you dont have a specific use for an extension ladder I'd avoid this.

Little giant makes the king Kombo ladder that is an A-frame ladder that folds out into an extention ladder. It's not nearly as heavy and more useful IMO.

I have the M13 and almost never use it unless I have a 3rd person that needs a ladder or someone needs to borrow a ladder lol.

Personal experience with this product:

Got it 2 years ago as I bought my first home and felt it would suit a ton of purposes. I have 14ft ceilings inareas of my home and knew I'd need some extreme reach at times.

I'll give it 4/5 stars. It's fantastic for a ton of jobs. Versatile and stable for the most part. Exactly what you expect from it. However, two main things worth considering.

First is it's absurdly heavy and bulky for a ladder, even in it's most compact form. This is NOT the ladder you want to go grab for a smoke detector at 3am (twice!)

Second is at full extension, this thing is scary to be at the top of. I know what it's rated for, I know it's safe, but the thing wobbles..a lot. 19ft is a long extension and its aluminum, this is just gonna happen, but it's pretty terrifying if you don't like moderate heights - I do not.

So, it's a great ladder overall, but if your usage is covered with a more standard ladder - I'd go that way instead.

You can rent one, but will need a lumber rack to transport it.

Heads up, these are not the ones in the ladder aisle. There is a 22' there as well, but that one is a nicer build, feels sturdier, slightly heavier (barely), but also has wheels on one side to help move. It's also full price. It does NOT stand on its own when collapsed, not that that's a considerable feature, just something I prefer.

I found these in the front of the store in the "pro" section. They don't have the aforementioned wheels. They are lighter than the other 22' ladders in the ladder aisle, and to me feel like the build quality is slightly less. Not that it's a bad ladder. The employee I asked to help me find it informed me that it was for their "special" that they're setting up tomorrow, but they're already out on the floor so you're welcome to them. So this feels like a special buy for the holidays.

Military discount did not work on this. Cashiers screen said something about the discount not applying to merchandise priced at store cost or something like that. Not sure if other discounts/coupons would work.
Same with purchasing online. No military discount.

Would like to see some YouTube reviews on this specific ones. Only ones I see are ones with orange ends on them which this one shows all black. I wonder if it's an older model. It seems solid for a homeowner DIYer.

For you experts, construction wise, this or Werner 22? Quality over price always.

Good price on a tall/long multiladder.

For home owners who don't love lifting Heavy ladders, a long aluminum extension ladder and a shorter platform ladder (e.g. https://gorillaladders.com/hybrid/) typically works better.

Platform easier to be on for hours painting etc.
Regular extension ladder movies easier and stable with standoffs for working on the roof and higher up.

...

That said, the multi ladder can be used in ways neither of those can, like right up against a wall.

The only other major type of ladder for a home owner would be a tripod ladder for trimming tall trees and such and can get in between trees easily.

Specs say it's 38lbs, is that heavy for a 22 foot ladder? Serious question, I'm shopping for a ladder this season, and I saw a 23ft at home depot, that was 44 lbs and I thought, in my head, that's not bad, then I saw this and thought, ooh , it's a little lighter, but then your comment made new wonder, what is a "light" ladder in this size?. Thank in advance

Hard to compare apples to apples but most comparable aluminum extension ladders are probably 25-30 pounds. But that's just if you need and extention ladder. That's not a 38lbs ladder you'll be moving around a lot to change light bulbs in your house, too paint, put up decorations, or what ever else you need a step ladder for.

If you absolutely need an extension ladder this isn't a bad all around option... it's just heavy. But most people with a single story house can get by with a 6ft or 10 ft fiberglass ladder that is much easier to handle and use.

I had to clean leaves and debris out of my second story gutter. This ladder was easy reach for this task. It would have cost more to hire someone to clean my gutters. So it paid for itself already. But be careful climbing that high. One fall at that height and you're done. But it does feel very secure climbing to that height.

But like everyone said, it's very heavy. And you definitely need a second person to help stand it up when fully extended.

I second this opinion...the king Kombo is shockingly useful for its' diminutive size and relatively light weight. I am able to use it to climb up to the roof of my one story house. I purchased the Kombo accidentally, not realizing how small it was and initially I regretted the purchase, but after a few years it's now my go-to ladder.

I have the older version of this ladder. The length listed is the estimated reach of the user. This is a~18+ Foot ladder. Other than that this is a great ladder. If you want to top line "orange" model with built in wheels and the leg levelers you have to spend more.
