Home Depot has the same price:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/WEN-R.../311444607

The most inexpensive 3500w sustained output inverter generator.

Yes it is noisy and gasoline only. It does not come with the 240v NEMA L14-30 connector which is highly desired if you wish to integrate the generator to your whole house circuit through a transfer switch or interlock. But if you don't mind any of them this is a good deal.

If you want to keep a fridge (~1300W), a gas furnace (~700W), and minimal set of network / VOIP equipment and 2 laptops (~150W) powered, this will be a good generator within good efficiency load.

In my recent research, most of the forced air furnaces is hardwired (the code says it needs it's dedicated circuit). A transfer switch will be useful to feed the power from the generator to the furnace. If you are not looking into DIY a three way switch and make it compliant, you may find https://ezgeneratorswitch.com/ a good source. The highlight is that you need a switch that will not backfeed your generator power to the power line to endanger line workers while they work fixing the power.

Just remember the ezgen switch is only good for 1 circuit.

I can't think of a single product made better by being CARB compliant.

I bought this thing pre hurricane season and just stored it. I bought it from the WEN website which charged NO tax and NO shipping. Might be worth looking into.

Did take it out of the box and everything looked well built. Didn't want to deal with maintenance until I actually need it.

Can we stop with the "made in China pass" comment. This is as old as "no HDMI, pass"

Where is the slick deal at? Walmart has it listed as 404.97 and even if it was originally 412, a 7 buck savings is hardly considered a slick deal IMO.

I bought this generator about a year ago and am very happy with it. Only used it a handful of times so far, and it starts right up every time. Bought directly from the manufacturer, since they had the best price. I used a TT-30P to L14-30R adapter to plug into the generator plug on the house. Yes, this generator is only 120v so I can't run the AC, oven, or clothes dryer on the generator. Runs the furnace, fridge, freezer, all of the electronics in the house, and whatever lights the kids leave on (all LED, btw).

That's fine if you're going to claim that, but if you do, you need to provide the bare minimum helpfulness of giving us the link to Amazon where you found it.

The cheapest I see when I search Amazon for Wen GN400i 4000W Generator is the exact same price as the above listing.

Can anyone confirm op's point about needing 240v NEMA L14-30 to connect to a transfer switch?

Are you using it with an interlock or transfer switch? Please share the details if possible.
