This RIDGID comes with a 12-volt power cord (connects to cigarette lighter thingy), so you can have best of both worlds and not have to open your hood.

I worked at Depot for many years. For both being Home Depot exclusive tools, we always considered Ridgid to be better quality.

Ridgid also has lifetime service. Just register the warranty, and if you have any issues you're supposed to be able to get it to a nearby service center and get it repaired for free.

Most of that post is incorrect.

Individual batteries are now covered. You can get service at most Home Depot rental centers. I haven't had to physically mail in a receipt in well over a decade. Uploading/emails work just fine.

How about you leave the Ridgid commentary to people that actually have personal experience with Ridgid rather than spreading rumors and misinformation?

Hmm, interesting. I got too many ridgid tools otherwise I'd consider.

how is this deal rated compared to the ryobi one (for $20)?

ignoring the price, would rigid inflator be better than ryobi?
I've used the RYOBI inflator for years and it's great!

It's a bare tool, so I suppose it's a valid question if you already have both brands of batteries and chargers. But if you don't have either, I wouldn't base the decision on the inflator alone.

Imo I would get a 12v one that you can connect directly to your battery, unless you want to carry around the tool and the 18v battery charged in your car all the time.

Anyone know duty cycle of this inflator or time from flat to 32 psi on a passenger or truck tire?
5 min on/5 min off is the duty cycle. Might take you a while to fill from flat to 32 psi.

I just got a couple of these to keep in the trunk of our vehicles. It comes with an 11ft 12-Volt Vehicle Power Cord so you don't need the battery to operate it. With the LSA, it was a no-brainer.

I can't help but think I made a mistake buying Dewalt tools. The inflator is never available for a good price.
You can always buy battery adaptors (but they are like 15-20 bucks)

I was hopping on here to say this was my favorite Ridgid tool, but then noticed lots of others were saying the same thing. This thing save my butt when I was out for side-by-side UTV ride. I hit a rock that popped the bead for a second and gave me a flat but those tires only need like 9 psi and I was able to fill it up and keep riding. I also take this thing on downhill mountain bike rides and I've saved a few of my buddies with it. Plus putting air in basketballs. The list goes on.

I have the Makita version of this and I can say that this tool gets a lot more use than I ever expected.

This is $10 cheaper than the new / blemished model sold at the Direct Tools Outlet so it seems like a good deal to me. I know sometimes there are discount codes there that could make it cheaper but I don't have one at this time.

I have a battery powered one from Amazon that is similar. I have a slow leak on one tire on my car and have to put 10-12psi in it every day to drive anywhere. One full charge lasts about a week or longer of uses. No need for cables or anything and it charges from usb.

In any case whether this one or another type I highly recommend getting one of these. Total life saver. This and a portable car battery jumper/charger that also charges my phone if I need. I've only needed the jumper once but it was like 50 bucks and totally worth the peace of mind.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll definitely put this to use.
I own the inflator and is the worst rigid purchase I made. The numbers on the inflator go crazy and the hose doesn't seat well but it still works if you try and try again. But I still like this gadget

The first one will give more run time than most people will need.
The second one would be enough to fill tires that have run somewhat low and you will get a light to go with it.
