I've used these in a DS918 and a DS2419 with zero issues.
I've got a 920+, and it currently has two 14tb drives. By adding two more, what am I actually getting? More storage space or simply more backup redundancy?

Buy 3, buy 3, buy 3, buy 1.
I did similar, bought 4. I got 3, then 1. Will see if they cancel any. If so, I'll order from a different store to pick up.

Limit 3, still holding out on a deal where I can get 10 at once.
you can buy 3 orders of 3, but then it stops letting you purchase.

That's very useful for people like me who can't keep RAID counts straight.

Depends on how you have your array setup. I'm currently running a 920+ with two 14TBs and two 8TBs, with one drive redundancy (Synology hybrid raid). I snagged two more 14s with this deal to increase overall space and also maintain the one drive redundancy. Will sell off the two 8TB drives to recoup costs.

The 16TB will likely be on sale for better per TB deal next. This is their usual strategy. However, I am not going to take the chance and ordered one first.
I'm hoping so. I'd love to see the 18Tb at $270 mark. I picked up a 14Tb to replace an aging 8Tb, but I really need the extra space.

I'd rather be a data hoarder than be an actual hoarder.

What's the most cost efficient way to have all my video on self powered drives vs these that require separate power?

I really want the 18 to come on sale, but this is a good price at $14.21 per tb for the WD - easystore 14TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive, here's hoping even better prices come on black friday.

Edit removed URL I was beaten by ~2 minutes well played sir! Maybe next time I'll post the deal THEN buy the product. With the black friday guarantee (free best buy membership!) I had to buy two of these smaller drives (fmr ps2 model 80 owner here, the future is flipping insane).
Lots of risk associated with that

Check your Amex offers. I had "Spend $250 or more, get $25 back" at Best Buy on my Amex Platinum card.

Not sure about the availability of 18TB consumer drives this year, but the 18TB enterprise drives was a big seller to data centers this last quarter for WDC. My guess is that the 16TB will be on sale for $220~230 next.

CHASE

Chase Card Holders don't forget to check for your 5%-10% CashBack at BestBuy that was posted a week ago. I have the 10% offer on my Sapphire card so this deal is excellent.

Also if you are a FREEDOM FLEX card holder PAYPAL and WALMART are 5% this quarter, activate on Chase, Pay ONLINE through Paypal for 5% CB if you don't have an explicit BestBuy offer on a Chase Card.
