This is for the older MXQU2LL/A model which supports 3rd and 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9. The newer model which officially supports 5th gen is MJQK3LL/A.

This is like the third deal I've seen for the 12.9" model in the last month.

The 5th gen iPad does work with these, but:

1. It's a tight fit as you mentioned
2. The magnets are not as strong as with the 5th gen keyboard

I bought 11" model from Walmart deal for $149. Kept it unopened until last week of return window and finally flipped it on FB market place for $40 profit. Even at $149, I couldn't convince myself for this premium Apple accessory. Yesterday only, bought a Lenovo Chromebook for kid with 14 inch IPS touch screen display from Best Buy deal. And yes, Chromebook has a keyboard. Anyways, few will always find value even in Apple's microfibre cloth (aka polishing cloth) sold for $19.

I have the 5th gen iPad and the 3rd/4th Gen keyboard. They work flawlessly together.

Well you are not getting the point here. Other companies are selling full computer (with LOT more components inside) for $150 and here we have Apple selling JUST the keyboard with MSRP of over 2 times. Apple is not here for charity but people expect more value for the price they are paying. It's not just about Apple logo anymore.

I did some research and found some walmart has it for 149 (pretty old deal, but some store still has the 149 price and inventory). I checked and there is one sort of near me and still in stock. I chat with the BB rep, she reviewed it and decided to price match it. So after price match at BB it is 149 brand new. she did mentioned it was an exception but she also mentioned inventory in my area and I think they also checked the inventory at my local walmart store as well.

At 149 this keyboard is actually a good value. If you see the teardown video, apple put many thoughts and use many metal/cord inside. It is not just another keyboard.

Plan to use it on the M1 model, hope it fits like the video shown online.

Bought this one of the earlier times it went on sale at this price. Hard to say that it is "worth" $200, but I really do love it, and it makes the iPad so much more useful. I've not used my MacBook Pro since I bought this.
