Tom's HW review says the crucial P5 runs quite hot. If you need an m.2 drive for a laptop you might consider a Hynix Gold P31. With $10 AMZ coupon it goes for $119.

Some intel boards have 3 NVMe slots. I believe one slot runs at gen4 while the other 2 are limited to gen3.

This is a good drive, but probably best for desktops with good circulation. Runs a little hotter than others.

With DRAM - better performance and longer life span
Without DRAM - Cheaper

Thx. I keep looking for a deal for one for my PS5
The WD SN750 SE is on sale on Amazon for $99 I think for a 1TB. All you have to do is buy a Heatsink, and many are reporting it works fine with the PS5.

I think this one is not better than Sandisk (SanDisk - Ultra 1TB PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe Internal Solid State Drive). Seeing same price in BestBuy. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sand...Id=6402020

It has to be a Gen 4 drive to work on P5

Would a pair of these P5 work well for a Synology DS920+ ? I don't see any mention on the Synology website what PCI gen the nas requires but I am guessing gen3 might work?

Bollocks !

Micron (Crucial) knows their flash, they will design things to operate properly, and be decent. Or do you trust 3rd parties like Kingston more???
