I searched and could not find any other post under Verizon or phones, or Costco, so hopefully it is not a repost.

I was in Costco to switch to Verizon and saw a new deal that just started on the 10/28.
If you switch to Verizon and bring your own device, you are eligible for a gift card between $350 and $500.

The promotion runs from 10/28/21 to 12/31/21.

If you get one of the Premium (Do More, Play More or Get More) Unlimited plans, you get the $500 gift card.
If you get one of the cheaper unlimited plans such as the 55+, Just Kids, etc, then you get the $350 gift card.

Each line you bring over is eligible. I brought 4 lines over so I will be getting $2000 in Verizon gift cards. Max of 5 offers per account ($2500)

Each line/IMEI must be active for 45 days. Afterwards, you can take advantage of any promotions to upgrade to a new phone. This would also allow upgrades during the holiday period of mid December.

You must submit the claim within 30 days.

You will receive the gift card within 8 weeks after submitting the claim.

If you do not want to stay with Verizon, you probably could sell the gift card, unless they somehow link it to the account. It is unclear if you can use the gift card for phones/devices, or just for service.

If you want to stay with Verizon, after the 45 days, you can downgrade to a cheaper plan. With 4 lines, my cost would be $45 plus tax for the Play More Unlimited, and my kids would get the Just Kids for $35 plus tax. Assuming 2 months of the higher plans, and then the cheaper plans after that, we will be getting service for free for over 10 months!

If you like your phone, and are bringing over multiple lines, this is an unbelievable deal.

Currently, I have T-Mobile magenta military with 5 family members. Do you guys know if I can move 2 to Verizon to take advantage of this offer and keep military status on both Verizon and T-Mobile?

Looking to upgrade our three (3) phones so will need to look for another deal.
Depending on how old your phone is, VZW actually has some decent deals on brand new phone. Traded in my iPhone 11pro for the 13pro for free. 2 years contract though.

so crazy question- could you add 3 lines and then 3 new devices then use the giftcards to help pay down the 3 new devices?

As per T&C at website:

....
We reserve the right to charge the amount of the Verizon Gift Card to your Verizon Wireless account if service is canceled within 12 months or change your price plan from an eligible unlimited plan
.....
It doesn't say specifically that you need to be on unlimited plan for 12 months.

Have to disagree. Maybe in some markets their network is great, but it sucks in my area (Central Valley CA). Paying absolute top dollar every month for mediocre coverage/service, at best.ratbastard

Same here. I'm in a suburb with a population of 300,000 and my speeds are less than 1 Mbps on LTE. I'm always around wifi so it's not a big deal, but TM is much better where I live. Unfortunately, once I go elsewhere, VZW is better most other places. I might have to dual SIM my phone. VZW for calls and TM for data.
Yeah, where I am there are actually a lot of dead zones where T-Mobile and AT&T have literally no coverage whatsoever, so I really have no choice which sucks.

Well, you can use the gift cards to pay your Verizon bills. But you really need to research into it

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank jonnark

I did porting 4 months back for 650$ per line. GC arrived promptly after 8 weeks. I ported 5 lines, my monthly bill is 220$ per month. First 2 months u have to pay after that you can use GC to pay. With 3250$ GC..I am set for free service for another 14 months. It is regular Verizon GC. You can use for anything including buying new device or upgrade.

Wow, how can anyone use Verizon knowing they are getting this badly burned for service? They are offering $500 a line rebate? They are robbing everyone blind and yet people still pay them extorsion prices for their phone service. Wake up people!
Totally agree. Repped

T-Mobiles unlimited plan is $70. Verizon's lowest unlimited with auto bill pay is $80. I've been on and off both services over the years, along with using AT&T and Walmarts cell phone plan. I also used to sell phones for all 4 major carriers in a Costco for about 2 years. Depending on what you're picking, one may actually end up spending less on Verizon than the other major carriers. I priced this out for many people. while verizon can be priced up just a bit more, overall it is better.

Just want you to focus on following term before purchasing

"We reserve the right to charge the amount of the Verizon Gift Card to your Verizon Wireless account if service is canceled within 12 months or change your price plan from an eligible unlimited plan"

do they still charge you "line access fee" per line monthly? on all their plans?

never mind, i did a couple of chats.....and at first both reps said there is only a 1 time access fee and that's it, after i copy and pasted their line access fee charge from their website they finally succumbed and said yes there is a monthly access fee, minimum $20 per line per month.
