I can't believe how people care about what others get excited over
It adds up. Just buying things I buy anyway, I've saved $160 this year so far with Discover. Will probably add another $50 with Christmas shopping since Amazon and Walmart on on there this quarter.
Combined with my other rewards cards, with just a tiny bit of planning, I net about $600-1000 a year in cashback and travel. It's not nothin'.
I wish they weren't so strict with the grocery store category. None of my go to places count for groceries.

Incorrect -- Target also gives 5% back on their Red Card, so keep that in mind when considering how to use Discover bonus.
Your comment is objectively wrong. This is useful, AND Target's bonus is useful.
I guess we can argue about my use of adjectives. But I can't get excited about getting 5% for 1 quarter, when I can get 5% off any day of the year already. Since everyone who shops at Target should have the RedCard (free debit card), that means 2Q is now just really 5% off gas. That's a lot of gas to hit $1500 in a quarter, even at current prices. So 2Q is not very attractive as far as deals go.
General question - how do you guys keep track of offers and cashbacks, discovery/amex/chase/paypal/etc.. I keep finding after the purchase that I should use rather other card or trying to remember at register which card is best here.. I can't be the only one facing this :-) any ideas?
Cut the corner from a piece of paper (like from junk mail everyone is always getting), write the categories on there and clear plastic tape to the front of the card. For non rotating cards this is a one time thing and even for rotating it takes about 2 minutes for chase/discover/etc. Cards for categories like utilities can be set to autopay and never have to leave the house.
Check the Amex Blue Cash Preferred with 6% on groceries non-stop.
It stops when you reach $6000 for the year. But yeah, it's great!
I may not get 6% on my bank account, but saving 6% is a good compromise.
Note there is a $95 annual fee. ($360 max with the 6% - $95 annual fee = $265)

Amex is just as strict on groceries category. I have that card, but they don't count Walmart or Target grocery purchases for the 6% either. I guess those places sell too many non grocery items. They think you'll buy a TV along with your produce.
I get that they're partnered with Amazon, but it makes me really sad to see that there won't be Target and Walmart for Q4 next year. I use the daylights out of all three of those stores for Christmas and holiday shopping. Q4 used to be my favorite quarter.

I write them down on a card and put it in my wallet
I stopped using discover (citi DC card also) for anything that I want extra warranty and protection since they discontinued these benefits. Now I use only on 5% cashback things such as grocery, gas and restaurants.
Boo, no more warehouse club category! I've had my Discover card since 1989 (32 years now) basically since they first introduced it. They didn't have any cashback for years, so it sat in my drawer and collected dust. They kept sending me new ones when the old one expired, even though I didn't use it. It finally paid off when they started offering 5% back, but they keep making it worse and now, it will collect dust again during those quarters when I don't buy in the categories. Oh well, maybe they'll add warehouse clubs back next year, like they added Home Depot in a few months back. We'll see.
All these just turn out to be around 2% cb overall if you take advantage of all the 5%cb. I rather use my citi double cash card to get similar 2% cb lol no headaches lol

Is that with greater than $50k deposits? "Platinum" it looks like. Unless by premium you meant something else.
Serious Q, am always looking for good cash back cards.
