OK dumb question -- this includes two routers, but if you use both of these in your home, you have to use the second router as an access point, right?
Is there any advantage to having two routers instead of router + access point?
Depends on what you intend to use it for, the routers DO NOT include speakers, but do have Ethernet ports and the routers can be wired together for wired backhaul, which will speed up the wifi. The access points can't do that but are built in google home devices.
For me, I have wired backhaul and the routers are more important than speakers, it might be different for you.
I've been holding out for a Google Wifi 6 update. I've made it along this far might as well wait and pay a bit more but get on wifi 6 more for the capacity than the speeds. Between light switches, speakers, cameras, etc. i'm at 40+ devices at home

I'm with you. I hope they release a new product soon. Google always seems to be slow with implementing newer technologies though.
Bought this last year because I need a LAN port from the second endpoint. It works very well for me but I feel if you don't need that second LAN port, the current $179 one from best buy should work pretty good as well

the single points units are just a repeater so you use wireless as a backhaul. also, they are slower than the AC2200 on the router units. if your house has ethernet i'd definetly spend a bit more and get this 2 pack instead
So if I buy two of these can I hook all four units together as one mesh for a large home. Also I have a total of 90+ devices a mix of wifi and wired connections, would this setup meet my needs or should I be looking for something else?
