I totally get you, and there will be a lot of people out today since they are off work for veterans day. If you haven't tried it already EMDR saved my life and marriage after 16 years of living and working with PTSD.

my gf worked at Buffalo Wild Wings, the old boneless ones were ok/decent/edible, but the new ones, they damn good.

Will give them a try...last time I got them by accident on a deal, I didn't eat more than one...thx

if you get them sauced, they become soggy. I get them plain, no sauce, and get the sauce on side as dipping. its far superior imo.

I think they are damn good, but inflation has them stupid priced now a days. like 12 bucks for 10 wings. but today is Thursday, so its BOGO, + gonna use a veteran day freebie, they better not try and tell me I cant. gonna claim the freebie first then do bogo on 2nd order.

take to go. nomnomnom

Buddy from the Marines' wife makes them go and pick up a meal from as many restaurants as they can and they fill their fridge. Won't get a single thing that isn't free and insist she gets a free meal too. I think their record is 20 places starting and ending at the IHOP / Denny's. Usually end up throwing half of it away after it sits in the fridge for a week. Cringe as heck

During the past few years I've visited a few of these on Veteran's Day. I am a Vet and there is no standard on 'proving' you are a vet. I've had some (like Little Caesars) only thank me for my service and let me have the pizza and service. However, I actually had one restaurant (will remain nameless as maybe it was just the local policy) ask to see my original DD214 discharge paper - as if I would carry that around with me.

Most fall in between, but it might be a good idea to check what they are looking for before you go. At any rate, this Vet appreciates the gestures, sadly something that was missing when I left the service in '74.

Thank you for your service. I know the times back then were very different with our country and our citizens. It was horrible for you all.

However, thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, when your generation all stood by the sides of the airport arrival gates, gleaming with the red, white and blue, decked out in combat patches proudly waving those flags, greeting us with open arms, harty handshakes and pats on the backs. We didn't have to say anything to you because your looks and your eyes alone told us the entire story. We really appreciate your support and I feel absolutely heartbroken that our country did not do the same for you all. Despite all of that, you guys still came to us when we needed it the most. I made a vow that day, some 14 years ago, that I will take what you have given us and pass it on. It was an honor and privilege to have served among a company of heroes, past, present and future.

Why does OP say the Golden Corral meal is 11am-5pm? IT actually starts at 5pm until clode, according to their web site.

I used to carry my DD214 with me on Veteran's Day, but I've since gotten "Veteran" on my driver's license (which required presenting the DD214 to the SoS here). It was also helpful when I got pulled over the other night for "following too closely" - but I think the police officer was just checking for drunk drivers. At any rate, I suspect he saw the Veteran status and decided not to hassle me at all (no, I wasn't drunk, speeding, nor following too closely), he returned quickly, and sent me on my way.

It's a shame that a lot of the local, non-chain restaurants don't offer a similar comp. I know they're not as big as these chain restaurants are, and therefore don't have as deep of pockets, but one day of free meals to vets wouldn't kill them. Went to one of these local types today and took care of a bill for a vet and his wife, but I doubt this happens often.

Don't go there.. Go to Texas De Brazil or Mcormick and Shicks or one of the better restaurants. There is a great place by me that does buy one get one meals. Two Filet Mignon meals for $38 hard to beat.
