Just buy now and save the receipt. When the sale activates buy again and return the new one with the old receipt.
Your alternative would be buying GT-AX11000, with 15% trade-in discount + BBY CC (~8%), it's roughly $350 vs $250 here.
If you want wide coverage area or range go for the orbi. No matter how catchy titles these routers come with now a days, the fact is they really suck at long range. I had a asus n300 that used to cover 6 floor @my office. Now they have max through put only, range is a joke.

What does 11000 vs 4200 mean - do these numbers have any bearing, maybe number of antennas?
Only issue im having is my phone (and my Nintendo Switch) doesnt see 5G-1. No issues seeing 2.4 or 5G-2.
if it does see the 5G-1, it errors saying "cant authenticate" then after a Wifi refresh it disappears again.

Right now your phone is trying to negotiate which network let the router do it automatically and it will also prioritize and split slow versus fast streams

Returned it and got a new one. Same issue.
Chat'd with an agent, tried everything, even setting it to open/none, still couldn't connect. Said both could of been defective, so getting it RMA'd.
Til then 2.4G and 5G-2 it is...

Just bought both and tried it out. The TP-link is way better, the Orbi interface is designed for novice users with absolutely no advanced controls. The Orbi also had a lot of lag with streams from Fire Recast. The TP-link is going strong with 40+ devices and no lag anywhere. Returning the Orbi today

But if you need anything samba, or NAS an HDD via USB etc. The feature on this tplink somehow doesn't work with my existing harddrive out of the box.
Bottom line: if you just need a great router with great coverage, go for this one, it's a great router and does the routing and WIFI flawlessly, but its software is basic. If you expect/need anything software wise like Asus, you need to get an Asus.
