Dolby Vision is 12-bit color, as opposed to HDR10, which is 10-bit color. Meaning that HDR10 (or HDR, as it's commonly referred to) has 1.07 billion colors and Dolby Vision has 68.7 billion colors. It translates on the digital version. Disc is just a higher overall quality.

Reading comprehension is your friend. Don't fight it. This is a 3 for $15 deal.

Lol. That's not what it says. It says it can't play in UHD on your device, not that you can't play at all. It's because your phone doesn't have a 4K display. You can do HDR/Dolby Vision on newer iPhones, and you can record in 4K, because it has a 4K camera, but iPhones don't display 4K. You're still purchasing it in 4K, though, so you will be able to watch it on a device that supports 4K, like a TV. It will play in HD on your phone.

It's because your PC doesn't have a 4K display… Vudu detects your device. You still purchase in 4K, but you have to have a 4K screen to watch it in UHD. You are correct that it will play in HD, though.

And there is the problem with so many commenters…

Why Am I getting that they can't be played on this device (an I phone) if I purchased!!
I always get a "can't play in UHD on this device"when purchasing from my PC. Perhaps it's a similar thing with the phone. My guess is it will still play in HD on the phone, but will need a streaming box/smart TV for UHD.

There's some overlap with this FanFlix 4 for $20 deal [fanflix.co], with (at least) these films appearing on both lists:
  • 300
  • Central Intelligence
  • Game Night
  • Goodfellas
  • I Am Legend
  • Rampage
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • The Meg
  • The Nice Guys
  • The Town
  • War Dogs

So be sure to check that other deal, too.
Should choose Vudu for overlap movies with 20% off Vudu GC deal from Kroger post #2.

If you've not seen The Accountant, it's probably one of Ben Affleck's best roles and a great action/violence movie too

So I've been following discussions on a 4k player and general consensus is DV capability is best.So is Dolby vision via streaming a superior stream as well or it doesnt translate and it's only on physical disc?
You do get Dolby vision on streaming too and it works pretty well.
However the general video and audio quality of streaming is noticeably inferior to that if discs.

99% of people would not be able tell the difference. Difference is minimal at best
