Ace Hardware flyer arrived and they have some decent deals on small socket sets and wrench sets. I like to buy these types of sets for my kids for Christmas so they can build up a tool set every year. No, these are not what they used to be but they still carry a lifetime warranty. The prices shown are for Ace members -- each set is $9.99.

They can talk all they want, but I'll only believe it when I see it.

they mixed up my order by handing me a SAE box, too. lady said the SKU listed on the online order as metric actually corresponds to the SAE set. took a return and rebuy to sort it out.
just checked and both sets are open boxes... one actually looks like it got used for something light, there's dirt on a couple of sockets. both were ziptied. i'm amazed they couldn't even wipe them down before restocking them on the shelf. the damn place had more employees in a small store than i see at a large home depot

You can NOT get a Craftsman ratchet for $10, so really glad to find this.
There's a BONUS!!
The Craftsman set fits under the Deep Socket tray...
just pull the hinge pins out with your fingers and lid comes off .
Use a thicker sheet of foam to hold them together, since the Craftsman sockets fit loose in their tray.
There's still plenty of room for some larger sockets and extensions
I am very happy with this rig.
I have an unopened 200+ piece husky AND kobalt set - and craftsman pieces ALL OVER my garage so i kinda know what you mean, but still - a couple of these sets might wind up being delivered to the house! :-/
Mt wife thinks it's a sickness, or maybe some hoarding behavior, possibly Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder. My response is, "How many pairs of shoes is enough?" Besides all the hand tools, I bought a very large TIG Welder out of an aircraft plant out in the desert, large enough that I had to buy a phase converter since it's 3-phase ($300 couldn't beat the price for a water-cooled 350 amp welder, complete), a CNC milling machine, a lathe, surface grinder, belt sander, and a band saw. She might have a point .
Did get a bad set as the 1/2 socket was 1/4 sizeā¦so will be heading to ACE to get a replacement
(I have one of those $15 100 set socket sets so this is a huge upgrade, the socket wrench is very heavy in comparison)
That deal would fly off the shelf! Still waiting all these years!
