Can't we just use a privacy.com card. Then never send in anything? Can they actually lock the device remotely? Asking for a friend. Lol
Won't work unfortunately

I need some help figuring out if my device qualifies. It's a Samsung Tab A8 model SM-T350 (it's several years old). The option listed is a Samsung Tab 8.0 (New). What exactly does "new" mean? New to the list or a brand new device?? This is so confusing and can't connect to chat support.
I think it means a "new"er model vs the 2016 model listed next to it, which is what you have, I still wouldn't count on them giving you a 350 for it.

The point isn't that you won't get the tablet…you will be on the hook for the $350 TIV when they cancel your trade-in due to THEIR mistake.
At which point you should file Attorney General report in both your state and their headquartered state to be honest for blatant bait and switch deception, regardless of whether it was an "error." Apparently this isn't the first time crazy things have gone down for Samsung in this case either, so another "error" becomes pretty hard to believe all the sudden.

BBB is a joke and does nothing, it's just a way for companies to have good optics for "accreditation" anymore in my opinion. If a situation is egregious enough with mass marketing, especially depending on the state you and/or the business is in though, they'll look into it.

Keep in mind AGs are tasked in this regard with acting on behalf of all consumers, not just you. They usually will request follow up from the business to you if they do anything, but they cannot act in an attorney capacity to help you specifically.

I've had to resort to this a handful of times over the years, and it's more successful and less time consuming than most other avenues if you present the situation right in your complaint.

To be honest, AG consumer protection complaints are one of the few semi useful tools we as the little guys have left against deceptive, predatory, or illegal business practices. Definitely more people should be aware of what they are and what they may do. We're now up to our eyes in mandatory arbitration clauses and forced class action waivers, which really should be illegal anyway I think, but a business cannot "TOS" themselves out of government initiated legal action, it's not possible.

Alright, went ahead and pulled the trigger. We shall see what happens. I already have a Tab s7+ and love it. Finally can get rid of this nexus 7 and maybe flip the s7+ for some extra cash

I got a couple Pixel 3a xl for $30 time earlier this year, which I use to play with the newest android OS. At $350 tradein value, I've just given up on one. Although I did not bite the last s7+ deal, I hope they'd not cancel it this time even if it was a poisonous mistake for them. Otherwise, they'd have their reputation in the dust.

i used the virtual card from Capital One and i have set it to auto lock in a week's time. You can use Privacy.com card but you might not be able to use any prepaid cards for this deal. Not sure if they can lock the device remotely.

I did store pickup (hoping for less chance of cancellation). Trading in an old LG tab I got for free through T-Mobile.
