Not necessarily overcharging, but cancelling or reneging on the terms was what I meant. The best example I can think of was the Buy.com Hitachi monitor fiasco circa 1997. Buy.com listed a $650 monitor for ~$165. They took many thousands of orders but shipped only around 1600 of them, which was the entire inventory in the US. They cancelled all the other orders. There was a successful class action lawsuit and most people got around $43.xx each after attorneys fees.

This led to many retailers putting disclaimers on their printed and ecommerce ads which gave them the ability to cancel orders in the event of price mistakes. In the early days of web commerce, price mistakes are much more common than they are now because they put in safeguards, but the legalese is probably still in the T&Cs of every sale.

I don't remember exactly, but I think Buy.com eventually morphed into what we now know as rak***n, with several other corporate owners along the way.
Not really the same thing. The scenario you wound up commenting on was that Samsung would deny peoples trade-ins and wind up charging everyone $350 more. Big difference from realizing a price mistake and just canceling the unshipped orders. Hey, if it is a mistake then they have every right to do what they can to stop shipping what hasn't been shipped, but whatever is delivered already, too bad. That's hardly screwing the customer. It's more like the customer screwing the company by demanding they make good on a mistake.

In any case, these paranoid conspiracy people thinking that Samsung is out to screw people is just ludicrous.

I think somehow Samsung put a hold on all orders after realizing they did a mistake. My orders are all stuck and no shipping is happening. I say expect mass cancelations!!
You do realize it's Sunday, right?

Don't they need the charger if there's no power upon inspection.
No. They have all the chargers and stuff to inspect it properly, so you dont need to include it. They dont even want the original box, they throw it away

There are people worried this deal was too good to be true but its fine. Last week they had trade-in credit of $250 for all devices with free buds2 for 1 day. So this deal was just an extra $100 credit. I ordered the $250 deal last week and was told ill get extra $100 pricematched credit. Screenshot of last weeks promo attached

For people with multiple orders and a few on hold:

Just chatted with 3 separate CRs and they all said when the trade-in device is received at the facility, the next order will be released. So we just have to wait until FedEx drops it off, not when the facility finishes the trade-in evaluation.
Yes, cause it's max two trades per address.

It's fine, because the deal is as good as my tab s7 plus that i got for like $189 or so at the beginning of the year.
This might be a little better because they're taking any tablet that's on the list.

Mine is showing delivery date for nov 10, confirmed. I know i will get it because i got the same amazing deal for my tab s7 plis earlier in the year for like $189 or so with 256GB.
The s7 plus even cheaper after checking my old order. I paid $142. Lol

What about the S Pen ? Do I need to send that in?
"You should ship only the Trade-In Device, including S-Pens for phones, to Samsung."

If you have to do it for the phones, I'd do it for the trade in tablet too if you still have it. The risk for having a 'spare' pen is on you.

$250 & $350 is risky & your trade-in didn't get a decision yet on your deal. If it was up to $200 I'd be fine, but I do nervously think it'll work out..

2 Questions

Will they accept an iPhone 8+ if everything is in great condition but the battery is at 78%? Like it can get through most of the day and there are no signs of overheating or swelling but it does say take it in for service in the battery health settings.

Can I open the Tab S7 FE and still return it in the case that they deny my trade in? I should be able to find out if they denied my trade-in before the return window is up. I just don't want to pay a restocking fee or get denied the return.

Picked mine up from Best Buy

For those wondering:

• When I ship back to Samsung the device I'm trading in, should I send the charger, case, or other accessories with the device?

No – you should ship only the device to Samsung, and if you no longer need them, discard the other accessories following your local trash and recycling regulations. Trade-in value is available only for the device. If you do ship accessories back with the device, we will not return those accessories.
I'm sending back a Lenovo m8 that comes with a charging dock , so I guess I don't need to send the dock with it ?

1st downside of the FE vs the regular one...
When playing YouTube 4K 60fps hdr.. FE stutters like crazy and won't ever become smooth... The regular one.. With the same vid... Is Ok.. So smooth beginning to end.
Note:I played the 4k hdr 60fps sniper will Smith(gemini man) . I made sure quality was 4k 60hrd. Try it
The FE just doesn't do HDR, not sure how you enabled it but the FE is supposed to play normal videos only. So what you see is normal for a SDR display to simulate HDR content.

So I purchased a Samsung Tab S7 128gb from Samsung.com and picked up from my local BestBuy. I realized that I should get the 256gb because it has 2 more 2gb of RAM. Can I return it and pay the difference?
