Mine saved my life literally! Was hiking/snowshoeing by Aspen a few years ago & a large buck was startled & ran. He ended up triggering an avalanche & I was thrown down the mountain & buried. Because I had the watch & still had signal through my phone on my bk (idk HOW that was possible but am thankful!) my watch was able to do the incident detection & between the light & the navigation I was able to slowly wiggle out. I was upside dwn & didn't know Which way was up at 1st. Was rescued an hour later w/a dislocated knee, a broken leg & a concussion. So there was little chance I wld have made it bk dwn on my own. Now I don't go ANYWHERE w/o it!
Because some people like wearing watches.
To say this is a watch is like saying your phone is a clock. This is much more than just a watch. Take a look at what it does and you'll see that many who are active runners, hikers, cyclists, etc. track their progress through these wrist computers with built in GPS, barometric altimeters, heartbeats monitors, etc.

I'm still having trouble figuring out why people carry watches now. They all have cellphone with dead accurate time. I haven't carried a watch for nearly 50 years. Had pagers and then cell phones with accurate time, watch is redundant.

Because some people like wearing watches.

I hadn't worn a watch in 20 years, but lately I've been in some deep wooded areas...many I've never seen before. The maps function of the fenix series is awesome...turn by turn direction on your wrist. Routing on demand. Sure I could pull my phone out at every turn, but that eats the phone battery...when you're hiking you might need that phone for calling...you need to save that battery .

That's the only justification for my use...I never expected to wear a watch again either, but I love mine.

Doesn't really apply to these types of watches as they are borderline smart watches, with GPS, NFC, heart rate sensor, notifications and alerts, etc.

But even if you were talking about traditional watches, believe it or not, there are people like me who are not attached to their phone, I don't want to look at my phone if I don't have to.

Think buydig might be better deal for 6x pro since it has 3 year warranty. No sapphire option there though so I think that'd be why one would buy here vs there

It's kinda nice just to glance at ur wrist instead of getting a phone out & looking at it (plus I get distracted & think of something I need to do or check) watches can save a bunch of $$

I like to do outdoor run while listening to music, I want gps that I can track my run, yes, a phone can do all that but is too big and too heavy for me if I go out for an hour run, I am gladly pay $700 for a watch that allowed me not taking my phone while running

Garmin watches are for athletes. Telling time isn't really their primary purpose. If you're not sure why someone would wear one then you are definitely not the target market.

In military context, cell phones can be used by adversaries to target your position. That's what Russia did in Ukraine.

My G Shock can receive solar power and syncs to atomic time via radio signals. Stays within 1 second of GPS time. Got it "Used - Very Good" from Amazon for about $50 six years ago.

Watches are still relevant.
