You will only understand once you've tasted something cooked on it. Heavenly
Waiting for the big joe II or III
Sure but the level of control that you get over the temperature in a joe is really impressive compared to other grills at the same price and is fairly low maintenance when preserve a temperature after you've dialed it in. I admit though I don't have the patience to constantly tend to the flame. And it seems the heat from the charcoals in the joe is far less carcinogenic/cleaner then other smokers that use chips. Big point for me with kids.

Nope, it's all about one knowing HOW to grill with one's preferred fuel. I use mesquite wood (no charcoal or mesquite infused charcoal) and use very little as it burns hot and long. Not dissing this kamado (much), but it's certainly no guarantee of a "heavenly" cooked meal.

No. You can push really high temps for charring or sustain very more temps for slow cook

I hope so. I missed the Costco special earlier this year. Really wish I had picked one up then. There's always another shot though.

They're very versatile, efficient, and easy to run. Cold. Snow, and rain do not phase them. They produce great food. You can go 12+ hours without refueling or needing to touch the vents. And they have a lifetime warranty. Their only real downside is cooking space per dollar.

You can make bbq in a modded file cabinet you took from the metal heap at the dump. It's way cheaper but not nearly the same experience.
