Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
I got this one for christmas last year when Walmart had this sale. I think it reached 400 in price, but I could be wrong on that.
I had the same debate.
Heres my take.
For this price, its insanely good.
You can replace this gasket with the newer style gasket once this one wears out. They all will wear out eventually but the grill itself is almost forever.
The air lift is no big deal to me. I'm 6'3 250, and yea I can feel its a ceramic grill lid, but I never go, man I wish this lid was lighter. It is what it is. doesn't bother me. Now, my mom whos 78 and has health issues cant raise my grill lid. Thats ok, she doesn't ever need to.
The wheel top as I'm told, can also be replaced, with the newer style, but I don't see a reason to do so.
The wire frame cart is sturdy stable and fine. E ventually i'm gonna build in an outdoor kitchen table and move the ceramic grill into that. Just a preference, nothing wrong with the cart its in.
For the savings, its a killer deal for this series, and its beautiful!
I bought a cheap wire basket from amazon that I can put coals in, with a splitter in the middle in case I only want coal on one side. I'd def go fort his vs 2-4X the cost in a newer model.
I just did a 14 lb practice turkey on Saturday (we went elsewhere for thanksgiving and we wanted some proper flavorful leftover turkey to chow on), because come christmas I'm doing a 26 lb turkey in this thing!

Any users can attest to difference between series 1,2 and 3? This appears to be series 1. While series 3 is $2k!
Airlift hinge, better gasket, and it comes with a slow roller. It also comes with a much nicer basket instead of a iron plate with holes that the charcoal sits on. Oh and the stand is nicer. That's pretty much the differences between the 1 and 3.
EDIT: Forgot about the control tower top instead of the daisy wheel.

Been watching this for a while. This is the lowest I have seen them not on clearance and I kept missing the clearance ones. Bonus that it is free delivery to door.

I compared the differences and felt it was worth it to get the 3 on sale for $1399 here:

walmart did this same deal last year and they eventually dropped to 399 with free shipping. 499 is still a great deal since there's no guarantee they'll drop the price again.
