Item# 1592085 Energizer AA AAA Rechargeable NiMH Battery Kit w/ Charger @Costco In-Store Only $22.99+Tax

Price was reduced to $12.99 through 12/10, now back to regular price $22.99
6 x AA 2300mAh
4 x AAA 800mAh

Charge rates on the charger are pretty HIGH @ 2500mA for AA's, and 1000mA for AAA's. Trickle charge is 50mA for AA's, and 20mA for AAA's. For me these rates are MUCH TO HIGH
.
I would not use any higher charge rate than half the rating of the cell. HEAT KILLS! I would use ~500mA for the AA's, and ~200mA for the AAA's.

Rapid "1 Hr. Charger," 60mins or less to charge to capacity. Will charge 1-4 cells at a time.

My city has a place to take used batteries and electronics. Hopefully your city does too. Electronics recycling keeps them out of the landfills
Unfortunately very little is actually recycled, it is unfortunate.

energizer rechargeable are garbage i always have issues with them down the line. switched over to envelop and so far so good.
I suspect you had their batteries that were made in China. They did that for awhile and might even still have some today (for bargain kits). But I have purchased a kit similar to this one from Costco both in 2019 and 2020 -- for $14.97 each time -- and both kits had Energizer batteries made in Japan. And up until now mine have performed well. So if this latest kit has japanese cells then your statement does not apply here. That said, I don't find the $23 price for this kit much of a deal.

... right after the promos for the duracell rechargables that were only online from a recent slick deal.
Yeah, those duracells were made in China and their was nothing slick about that deal IMO!

There are 2 kinds of NiMH rechargeable, the traditional or LSD (low self discharge).
Eneloop was created by Sanyo as a brand for LSD batteries only.
Energizer also has LSD which usually said "pre-charged" on the package so it's available for immediate use.
Since this Energizer doesn't say pre-charged, so I assume it's not LSD

Traditional one is great for frequently used and high discharge like camera flash, RC cars and etc that require charging often, so holding charge for months is not relevant.
They're generally either high capacity, cheaper or more recharging cycles
LSD is good for lower discharging devices or stocking up for latter use.
Buy the cheaper ones that suit your purpose. If same price and same capacity, of course LSD is better buy.

However, I'd rather use the $1 for 4 AA/AAA Alkaline for TV remotes (50c for years) rather than much more costly NiMH and risking overdischarging and ruining batteries permanently.

My recent favorites are rechargeable Lithium batteries (not to be used high discharged devices though), true 1.5V to compatible with all AA/AAA electronics and can be pre-charged to hold charge for many months like LSD
Any link to Lithium ones. I am hearing first time and would like to try. In some places this 1.2 volt is a problem.

$22.99 at my Costco don't see a tag for price reduction. Does any one know if it shows up when at the register?

As far as I know this is a nationwide Costco deal that is available in ALL regions, but it ends on Dec. 10th. It should show up at the register if the sign does not indicate the $10 off.

I have read several posts on SD where the price on the shelf wasn't showing discounted, but it actually rang up discounted at the register.
